For these of you who don't wanna waste 30-40$ buying a USB floppy drive, to replace the old 8$ floppy drives that require a FDD IDE port on ur mainboard which is nonexistant these days.
I re-rared (packaged these files) here: FileSwap.com : usbboot.rar download free
Whats in it?
Contents of the rar:
Win98boot.zip (ms dos files, which u need to extract to a folder).
AWDFLASH.exe (amibios's award bios flashing tool, if u don't use amibios u prob need a diff flash tool but regardless just including it in this file u can replace with your mainboards proper tool when need be).
SP27608.exe (This file is by HP, its for making USB bootdiscs, scan it if your paranoid, anyways this tool works best i had one other usb2bootdisc.exe tool but, i was unsatisfied with its performance, the HP one in this .exe works properly, and does the job).
How it works, is you extract the win98boot.zip to a folder, you install the SP27608.exe (hp tool for making a usb ms dos bootdisc) you run the HP program, and select: "Create MS DOS Startup disc"
Then you browse your drive and select the folder where u extracted the win98boot.zip files too. These are your dos files.
(below step you do after you've dragged your proper files or whatever files aka flashrom files for bios and flashing tool, or whatever you want memtester or whatever to your usb drive prior to rebooting after its created itself as an msdos disc like the above directions do... tho as for memtester i'm sure they have a precompiled usb jump drive thing but anyways, i thought this was handy. ~Cheers).
Then at reboot, after you got your files all on ur jump drive.
F10 or whatever to go to your bios bootmenu and select your data device my case its a kingston data traveler... and then it flashes a funny win98 bootscreen momentarily then goes to C:> _
An naturally C:> is your jump drive, so dir shows its contents.
Have fun.
Thought this would be useful for everybody, even tho i found out now that my mainboard is not an EVGA its something else, may be an ECS board i emailed ECS to see if they reconigze the board model.
Anyho.
~Cheers, 'happy fragging.
