I was there back in '84, bought the 256k mac, (also bought "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy") for it.

I had "Don't Panic" engraved on the back of my iPad. Too bad Douglas passed before this device came out....

Steve may have been an A-Hole, but Apple did change technology. I cannot say that I would have personally liked the guy, but I would have liked to see what would have been created in the future with him at the helm.

I thought this was going to be a joke thread, lol. This was quite unexpected, but I just hate that people are now saying "OHHES HE CHANGED THE WORLD", it really pisses me off. He made Mac, iPod and iPhone but it didn't change the world. TBH I think Apple's products are pretty shit.

The death of Steve Jobs is a tragedy for those who knew him and should be respected as such, but Grim Warlock is essentially right, the field of packaging crap for the consumer market is not a heroic endeavour. The Nobel Peace Prize was just announced for this year with a whisper of coverage in comparison to the death of the guy who patented the pastel toned computer case and the single button mouse.

Probably because there are so few people actually interested IN working towards peace in the world today. Sad but true.
