Yea, there has been alot of flood protection / detection installed on servers since the early days of ddos....but in reality, if 10,000 people try to fit through a door all at the same time, that is designed for one person, of course its gonna fail. For all we know a ddos is alot of legit requests thrown at a server. But in order to have root on all those pc's so that you control the flood , its got to be a bot / zombie army of infected computers.

DDoS isn't really hacking. Fuck, I could be part of a DDoS attack if I wanted to. It's quite simple really. Nothing more than spamming ping requests forever, from many many people, causing the server to get flooded.

Starting to look like hacker wars to me in the end. I got a hunch it means Cornelius and Zira are gonna get another term in office. If there are people in the world who are online just to disrupt the experience for others and draw attention to themselves, civilization has really blown it big time, and there was not much point really in inventing household electricity distrubution when anyone can buy the service, no matter if they are deserving of it or not. I was told once a driver license is a provledge, not a right. Use of the internet is dependent on your no brain ability to have rights to electrical power. Punish these bozos by suspending revoking their right to use electricity...and see how they like that.

Federal websites back online after Anonymous attack - CNN.com

Anonymous decided to shut a few things down today... I honestly want to see damning, horrid inside info on officials and political figures more than major sites being hacked, I appreciate the truth more than some big spectacle of a site being hacked, any monkey can do that and they offer tutorials now too. I'm sure they've got some EPIC info about all kinds of corruption already. But maybe the world really isn't ready for that shit yet tho, maybe the release of some crucially amazing cables could possibly accelerate the decay and downfall of civ and so on, giving "so and so" their oh so beloved "pre-text" to do the "other thing"... yup...

So the bill now applies to all countries? Seriously? They arrested the founder of MegaUpload in New Zealand for simply having a site. Seems they secretly passed the SOPA bill.

If I'm gonna get arrested, it might as well be for using Hamburglar pics ...

The jury will snickering, I'll be sitting there trying to not laugh. There will be dead silence in the courtroom with people trying to bite their lip to keep from laughing.

Likely, that silence will be broken by someone who was trying not to fart. But they did. And everyone looks around.

When they haul me off to prison, they'll say "Why are you here?" I'll be like "I plan to post Hamburglar pics on the internet while being incarcerated. What can they do, arrest me?"

I'm already in jail for posting Hamburglar pics!

They cant turn you into anything except what your own brain in your own skull tells you what you are. Thats the great thing about our brains being in our own heads. We get to decide whats best for us, and if we dont know, we can simply say we do not know, and wait until we have more experience and information to make a decision.

Ack, the advertising thing. I almost get clinically depressed when I see all these ads, because I know it means there is no decent revenue out there in this tanked economy , and companies are dumping lots of money into advertising, and I sincerely doubt its paying dividends. The walls are closing in for alot of these big companies we older people grew up with:

    Hostess, Friendlies, Kodak

They all are looking into or are already filing for chapter 11. I look at these young people in the stores when I walk in , and they all say hello, and make it known they see you, but they hold their heads down because they know things suck, and they probably have to hold their tongue otherwise they would tell you how they really feel for working for next to nothing in a dead end job, in a tanked economy and lots have college degrees. Makes me feel like I grew up in Camelot...and sometimes I wonder if I can do anything about it.

I think if we overestimate government that it has such a far reach and we are doomed, may as well just quit now. I agree what they are trying to do now is pretty scary, but the sopa crap was from Pat Leahey in Vermont. If you have ever tried to get to know anyone from Vermont, its pretty much the same scary experience - they are all pretty vacant. There were actually more people living in that state before the Union than there is now, shows how sucky it is there.

    1) What do corporations view us as? They view as as consumers and producers. Producers = employees
    2) What do corporations hate? Competition.
    2) Suck away all existence except being consumers and producers.

At first this sounds far fetched, but if accurately stated that corporate money has taken over the government, they will look to destroy free enterprise and creativity not under their control as well.

How do they kill free enterprise? Regulations and laws increasing the barrier to entry so high that like the automobile industry, a new competitor is virtually impossible.

A McDonald's internet filled with crap and advertising. Hit all creativity and intellectuals over head with "thought crimes" (SOPA). Make things like web sites and games get seal of approval by industry cartel (kill open source and indie stuff).

And it concerns me this might happen.

Nahuel posted that deal about Megaupload people getting arrested in New Zealand for violating US copyright law. Those people aren't even US citizens according to something I read at Slashdot.org. So the FBI has extra-national jurisdiction for copyright violation.

I thought the future would get "worse" for a while due to the economy, but I never expected what appears to be the world getting a few shades of worse in an unexpected direction.

I was going to list the supercomputer film that took the worlds money hostage and someone had to physically blow up the server room to stop it...

But i forget its name just remember it starting with an "E" or so i thought.

Google doing stuff like this comes as no surprise. It was built by Russians who grew up in the former USSR, and they are just perpetuating what they grew up with here, but on a global scale. All the money they make using adsense or whatever, I doubt its being re-invested in this country, else we likely would not be in a recession. Id bet the money os being re-invested in Russia somewhere to help rebuild / relaunch it ina big way someday, perhaps right here under our noses it would seem.

Pretty much....its basically wire tapping, which is illegal without a warrant I believe. Though this current ' administration ' still does what the previous administration pioneered, and listens without any legal warrants whenever it wants....all in the good name of terrorism / patriot act.

Civil war, it could be....because the politicians order the military and police which are like robots / zombies too. Regular citizens would need to side together, but how do you know there is not a spy in the midst of any movement? This all does remind me a lot of basic 1776 history, makes me believe we never realy beat the british, they merely appeased us into thinking we won...after all, who would surrender to dishonorble rebels that use gorilla warfare and dont fight like gentlemen? I think they still have a grudge about all that, and just pretended to lose and become our ally. Meanwhile we are their whore for free trade in the world.....would not surprise me if the government gets their money from the UK in a bind, after all, the exchange rate is always in their favor.

I didn't know this until 5 minutes ago.

Google apparently in November 2010 delisted an apparently popular web site called InfoWars.com because the US government wanted it delisted for showing WikiLeaks videos. And the YouTube videos of this Wikileaks material was removed were removed.

true, they don't need it to see what we're doing. but they would need it if they planned on prosecuting using that information.
