Wars being fomented across the globe, currencies being imploded, unnatural and natural disasters (fukushima, tsunamis, earthquakes) make reality not so fun right now.

But still, reality > fiction, always.

I personally, love fiction. Just a shame it cost $$$, to live fictionally.

So yes, reality > than fiction, mainly b/c i can't afford to live in a fictional world indefinately. LoL.

Fiction is nice, because you'd never see it coming. "mushroom cloud" from iran's possible future launches... etc.

But, yeah cost $$$, which i unfortunately don't make enough.

Reality can always be LESS fun.

Although it is sad to see those things on TV, it could be worse: it could be you or me on that TV.

We certainly do live in interesting and changing times.

It is very scary. These disasters can frighten a 22-year-old, such as myself. But I believe in religion. I believe that God/Allah/Buddha/Great Being will guide us through these tough times. This is why I try my best to be morally good.

It's interesting that you bring up this topic, because after having read a few posts, a question comes to mind... Why is the media so negative or pessimistic? Think about it... The news focuses on bad issues: wars, disasters, problems with the North American economy, etc. I think that there are many good things in this world, but for some reason, the media does not point out the optimistic facts. Why not?

I stopped watching TV years ago, after I finally realized that it's a tool, and an effective one at that.

Interesting thing about the media, they focus on all these negative things but at the same time they ignore most things and distort what they do cover. The motive is simply to frighten, confuse and divide.

That being said, I'm afraid things are going to get much worse at an ever increasing rate. Which sucks, I had plans, things I wanted to do (pretty selfish, I know).

I'm actually in the midst of trying to buy the farm my family and I are living on. It has acres upon acres of organic gardens, springs, ponds many animals, etc. Hopefully I'll be in a position to help myself and help others when things get really ugly.

I believe in God as well, and trust in him to lead us through this. I (we) just have to accept suffering and sacrifice and be loving to others.

The world leaders, the wealthy, the powerful are doing this for their gain. I pray that even if they were to kill and enslave most of the world, that in the end they will choose the preferred life after this one.

Ok, I realize this could easily explode into another internet flame war. I'm done talking now.

^ KP, I have a similar stance to yours. You should know most of the elitists are satanic cultists, and there is a lot of evidence/bloodline/history to prove this. They pretty much have killed off anyone famous who has spoken out against them, JFK being the most famous one.

When the fucking president of the United States is telling you there are covert operations within the government that are corrupt and taking part in a satanic secret society, how come no one listens? It's crazy.. they keep people so distracted today with gadgets, technology, the 'on-the-dot' gossip news, that we're not paying attention to the grand scheme of the governments' moves. Slowly but surely, the United States has been spreading out across the middle east in order to control resources, the use of propaganda has driven the US into nationalism, it's bordering on what the nazis did, and there is much genocide in those countries due to the US's presence; as well as setting up government institutions in those foreign countries and controlling the local/national police forces.

To be honest, the patriotism in your country scares the hell out of me, because I'm seeing a lot of mindless people that are no longer accepting critical opinion of their country and it's actions.

People just need to open their eyes, get away from what the media is telling you, and see for your self who's the real bully around the world.

I hope for all our sakes they don't war with Iran along with Israel, that would be a disaster.

I agree with Rampage (especially) and Killpixel. However my solution is drastic. Trap these power hungry globalists in their homes till they starve to death. Cut off their utilities and Occupy their life until it is over. Yeah, I know - it will never work. I never claimed to be any good at creating plans to save the country.

What rampage says is true. I kept my little thought tangent purposefully vague. I've had too many experiences where friends and family would close their mind to the reality of things because the "whos" and "whys" were too extreme. It's far better for people to understand what is happening than why it's happening. Though, a grasp of both is preferred. I do understand the aversion, it took me lots of research and real honesty with myself to come to certain conclusions.

A good place to start (where I started) is with math. Just numbers, thus the evidence is fairly empirical. How monetary systems work (particularly fractional reserve banking and the global banking net) is shocking. From there one asks questions like "why?", "who is doing this, where did this come from?". From that point radical truths that were impossible to stomach before are now attainable.

This new Kony 2012 movement is the 9/11 we need for Africa. If we invade, there will be so much bloodshed and tension. We will surely sever any good terms we have with China.

As far as Israel and Iran go, we may stick by Israel's side, but I believe we will betray, even if it's after we war along side with them for a while.

This was a factor to led me to cancel cable in 2009. I haven't looked back since.

/Ramp posted something deep, but I don't have time at the moment to think it over.

Don't watch media, it brainwashes you into thinking a certain way and tries to make things seem shocking and is overall full of shit. Anyway crap like this happens all the time, there's just more availability now therefore creating an illusion that reality is becoming sour. I'm happy with my life so reality > fiction, although I find myself zoning out more than being in reality, lol.

I dislike the decline of critical thinking in general. Although this also applies to specifics, like your example.

I dislike "group think", "conventional wisdom" and "popular opinion".

This doesn't mean I don't at times agree with some of those, just that I generally don't accept these things at face value.

I'm not convinced "globalism" is all bad. Nature abhors a vacuum.

What would fill this void in an alternate scenario? Would it better or worse? Less forward thinking? Perhaps less scientific? Perhaps less humanitarian?

Something has to fill a void.
