anyone. it would offer insight to where your ping goes wonky on your route. it could be happening at your isp level and you might be able to gripe / complain for fixing.

it is odd though that of all the other servers, the atlanta one is closest to me. so it could still have something to do with the isp i guess.

Now i do know my isp has a latency issue between 5pm-11pm. Its being fixed but the problem is that type of work has to be under permit by the county to work on it. They are also installing fiber optic lines in my area which is also an issue between 5pm-11pm and it affects me at all servers between those hours. Do a tracert in cmd prompt/dos and see whats going on, possibly a bad route between you and atlanta.

I don't know, I can suggest something thats aided me lately, which is in DirectQ there is a cvar vid_maxframelatency , and my understanding is, the default being 3ms....

any frames older than 3ms are thrown away. I have tried using more FPS by increasing that cvar to 5 and higher, and while it gave more FPS it also was using old frames with new frames, so I set it to ..

                    vid_maxframelatency 0

This leads me to believe, any frames older than 0ms are thrown away, which means I only use the most up to date frames. This has translated to superiour feeling of gameplay.

Maybe its just me.I could be misinterpreting the whole function though. It could help possibly your over all gaming experience online.
