Why did they get rid of baseball? It is the great American past-time (even though I am a Canadian guy.)

I already read a big article on it, and its main reasons for being removed?

-No MBL players = No-Namers dont draw in crowds.
-9 innings is FOREVER to cover the in the Olympics.
-if you cut out any amount of length of the AIRED Baseball portion,to make it easily aired on TV, Baseball fans will not be happy. Innings 1-8 are just as important as Bottom of the 9th.
-Every where Baseball ISNT a popular sport (London), this would require the construction of an otherwise worthless stadium,that will only be used once.
-MLB won't "LET" its players participate in the Olympics flatout. I'm sure MLB would want to be PAID for its players.

Is women's beach vollyball the greatest sport to be added to the Summer Olympics sense... oh I dunno... ANYTHING... Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor OOOMHHH... Go US...
