  • The Night Race!

It gets crazy on a certain Saturday night in August. It's Bristol Baby!

Is anyone coming to the race? It ain't (the race) what it used to be but it's still a helluva party! The modifieds and truck race was good Wednesday night, Maybe the Nationwide and Cup guys will follow suit! A few of the Nationwide and Campingworld Truck series guys raced at Bulls Gap Thursday night! It's a "dirt" Bristol... 3/8 mile high banked. Purty cool!

We always went to the FoodCity500, Bristol has to be the most bitchin track....

At the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Sharpie 500, held at Bristol Motor Speedway, Bristol, Tennessee on August 23, 2008, 168,000 people performed the wave to set a new Guinness World Record. <- Epic.

I was at that race. We had rain delays (thunderstorms) until 9 or 10 o'clock that night. We did the "wave" for a record number of times in a stadium. They kept count on the lap counter in the infield at the track! I don't remember how many laps the wave did... but it was 90 or a hundred... maybe more. We set a Guinness record i think. It don't take long to dry a half mile track.... and we raced and drank long into the night...

I was just always amazed at banking at Bristol. Fastest 1/2mile track IIRC. A sprint car set the fastest lap / top speed at Bristol check this out ; [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kbuv18bLMw]Bristol Motor Speedway, Track Record 150 mph, 2011-10-01 - YouTube[/ame]

I'd like to do half a mile in 12seconds or how about 1 mile in 24seconds

Burton Smith trucked in TONS of dirt onto the race track and let the World of Outlaws cars have at it...
