I started to reply and got side tracked, here is you a starting point for an autoexec.cfg

cl_bob 0
gl_polyblend 0
r_novis 1
r_wateralpha .3
r_dynamic 0
show_fps 1
cl_maxfps 1001
r_drawviewmodel 1
autostats
cl_upspeed 500
v_kick 0
cl_rollangle 0

Just incase you or someone needs help getting a autoexec.cfg created

Method 1]
Open your Quake folder,then go to TOOLS menu at top, then Folder Options menu. Click on the VIEW tab when Folder Options opens up,scroll down and find the check box Hide extensions for known file types ,uncheck its box,click Apply click Ok.
Now create a autoexec.txt , add the riff raff from the above quote , save the file. rename it from autoexec.txt to autoexec.cfg

Method 2] Open notepad or text editor, add the riff raff from above quoted text , click File, SAVE AS , then when the prompt comes up with filename , under the 'Save as type' select ALL Files *.* , then under File name put autoexec.cfg


OR just be lazy click autoexec.rar , extract to your ID1 folder / edit the settings as u see fit.

At one time I was looking for a fn way for autostats to be turned on,well, AUTOMATICALLY lololol. To my dismay it was an utter failure / I always forget to type autostats whenever I connect to a TDM/CTF server when its only useful.

I was lazy and never removed it after the failure, haha
