    Dear all,

Let us forget for a minute that Quake is the only game in the world and accompany me to a journey into another world, time and reality...

I was watching a trailer of a game that I didnt know of before.
It is called Hellblade : Senua’s Sacrifice.
It is developed by a small team from England: Ninja theory. Some of you maybe know them from games like: Heavenly Sword, Enslved or Devil May Cry.

Beeing not a big fan of their previous titles and the gamestyle in general, this one caught my interest due to its setting, ambience and new idea.

It is about a female viking warrior who suffers from mental illness. The game is about hallucinations, unrealness and manifestations and other sufferings from Senua’s Sacrifice.

Please take your time and watch these trailers in their orders.
They have a really great atmosphere, are worth watching and really entertaining:

Now, as we also have engine developers here (looking at Spike) it may be interesting to look at their developer diary. Ninja Theory created a longer clip about all the gameplay aspects and I want to lead you to one special one. Talking about Atmospheric VFX.
A very famous dev called Mark Slater is explaining it. Please take a look at it, as it is fascinating (especialy the first 4 minutes):

The music, a very important part of the game is available here:

    Kind regards,

    It is gorgeous looking.
I have been following the dev diaries.

Here is one about the facial capture tech they put together:

I am a big fan of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

I would love to see a remake of Enslaved in this engine.

afaik this is a sequel to heavenly sword, in many ways it looks like it'll be a combined effort of all of their works put together so I'm pretty hyped

and more important I once met the lead designer and told him his hair looked funny

          Hello Adam,

I was also fascinated by the way the created the main character model.
They use a handheld scanner and scan a real human body.
With all hairs and skinfolds... unbelievable what is possible in 2016.
... and we have only .md3

I too find it amazing that game dev teams create diarys for other people to watch and maybe learn from. But I highly doubt that this game will be a big success because they seem to focus too much about visual and forget the gameplay. It seems quite dull.
          But lets wait and see.

I love the music, idea and ambience from Hellblade nevertheless.
Even downloaded a nice wallpaper from Senua, standing on top of a mountain and looking down to an unbelievable beautiful view. I always was and will be a fantasy style lover.

          Hello OMacKnight,

So you also live in England ? That is cool. It is not very far from me
And you walk through the streets of England and meet famous people, as you say ?
Most probably you also met Spike already, just didnt recognize him, as he was coding with his smartphone while walking

          Have fun,
          Seven

Yeah I live on the eastern side in a city called Norwich. I haven't met many famous people but I have met a few devs from events I've been to in London. :p
Possibly, I have lived in lots of places around the country.

                Hello Adam,

Yes, I was more than suprised/impressed when I saw that an actress was actually playing the new cinematic movie live during the presentation. It is amazing what is possible nowadays.

Also the diary clip about the body/model of Senua and how they recorded all possible flexes and positions was really cool to watch...

In the end I must say that the pretty/lovely looking main character in-game looks really identical to the actress Alina.

                Hello OMacKnight,

Alina must live somewhere around in England. Use your connections and maybe date her
                Unfortunately I am too old.

Only if she can beat me at CS, DotA and Quake :p

But being serious it'd be cool to host a small event in london for people to come play quake, a sort of retro lan but now. Then people in and around england could come meet up and play some deathmatch :p
