Nice to see you in action again Korax, good luck to you and every hexen2 community =)

About other news: Kenon says that a new Trenchbroom level editor released that supports hexen2 now, not sure it new for you or not, for me yes =).

    Yep, I'm working on it.
Not AS regularly, but I update UQE whenever there's real glaring issues.

I'm pretty much done with UQE Hexen 2 as well as UQE Quake. I'm prepping this release for next week. Most of it is generally under-the-hood stuff, updating libraries, fixing tiny things I've been meaning to fix for a while and such.

I'll postpone the release if any are using UQE and have a specific suggestion, like other minor fixes I've missed or bugs that was experienced etc. Otherwise I'm releasing this update next week.

On that earlier post regarding making Hexen2 a mod for Quake. No. Just NO.
There's so many countless variation on the codebase that Raven just hacked in there most of the time it'll be near-impossible to be absolutely sure that after-the-fact that the game experience you are getting will 100% match what you are getting from the actual Hexen2 engine.

If any, it'll be a far better proposition to say you could make Quake a mod for Hexen2, since Quake would be the "simpler" version of the original engine. Not only that, I'm sure most devs would agree that the Quake engine's code is quite horrible.

It is a project someone could look at... if said person plans to make a career out of it... unpaid career.

Good to see you are still working on it, Korax. Pity though, that the original game did not provide a ground for community work to rise.

There's updates coming soon for UQE. Mostly minor and cosmetic though. Mainly compiling it for VS2015 making sure all functions properly for Windows 10, updated FMOD playback to the latest FMODex and tweaked the default gamma to be 1 tick brighter.

The viewport will have a minor update to allow for it to be made 1 notch smaller (and will be the new default). Its actually a slight reversal how the original engine was. The same tweak will be done for UQE Quake since too much is hidden behind the statusbar as the default.

I'm also thinking about adding 4K resolution, but I have no way to test it if I do add that. I might need a tester for that.

As you might know UQE is very purist, only fixing the most glaring issues. For me keeping UQE as close as possible to the original is my #1 priority meaning I don't change UQE often, which adds to each new version being as stable as it can be because the core engine doesn't get turned inside-out.

    thank you jeank,
amazing work...I follow your page waiting for update from almost 5 years, and see today an update make me very happy. Hexen is my favourite game of all time and was the first I have bought in the late 1997...same year I got my first computer.
    I have 1 question:
I play jshexen2 in 1920x1080, with this resolution the weapons are to close to my view; is it possible to make it less closer?
Anyway your work is amazing, i hope you'll continue the update in the future.

Judicator, Seven, Blood Vengeance, thanks for your response!
Glad to see in that topic a good company, same as couple years ago.

Also thank about good wishes, my friend Seven.
After overhaul in my home i try to keep doors always closed, try less get out to streets, prepare some food boxes and water supply, so today i have some little bonus, if survival game will started. While i type this text, I think about "smile" symbol, use it or no.
Now everything good inside home and acceptable outside, and i hope save that situation as long as it possible

About textures - i try continue that small work with textures, but i dont have enough time and make 2-3 textures for a week, i know is very slow. Today i have some new good finished textures for models, but i do not want update pack for small changes.

As usual, you can download all in one archive
(Just some texture replace, i did not touch engine, this still old jsH2 1.21.01)
