    what about your engine? are you still working on it?
    i hope you will release a stable and better version soon

    @ WhitemagicRaven: it's a "power of two" image. the texture has not glitches. It's the model.

    @ CODERS : randomly I yell my dream to merge all the HexenII projects in a big one =)

    • I know this isn't directly related to your pack, but your pack sort of caused the problem. I was using UQE before finding your pack, but I switched to FTEQW so I could use it. The pack works great (hooray!), and looks great for that matter. (As does FTEQW!) But I can no longer save my game. (To be clear, your pack didn't cause it, switching to FTEQW did.)

      I get this error:
      COULDN'T OPEN FILE SAVES/S0/INFO.FSV

      I googled to no avail. Thought I might ask here, as I couldn't really find any dedicated hexen or FTEQW forums.

      A way to get the pack working with UQE would also work.

      • officerhalf, from memory some older builds of fte failed to create the 'saves' directory in the correct place. if you create the directory, it might work. specifically the directory in question is something like "c:\documents and settings\$yourusername\my documents\my games\fte quakeworld\fteh2\SAVES\". you can see the actual path, without the 'SAVES', by typing 'path' at the console. it just needs a save directory. maybe a subdirectory for each save too.. but I hope not

          Nope. Directory exists. Heres what I get when I type path:



          There was already a "/saves/s0" at "My Games/FTE QuakeWorld/Fteh2", and I made one at "Hexen II/Fteh2", "My Games/ FTE QuakeWorld/Data1", and "Hexen II/Data1". Same error.

          The directory in My Games/FteQW/Fteh2/saves/s0 was empty though. Also, I got the latest stable nightly build. From moodles/win32. If it makes a difference I'm running on Win 7 64bit.

          • if you run it with Vista or 7 try to run FTEQW with admin privileges....

                  • UQE 1.14 is close to being finished. I'm tweaking some more at the moment, but the major objectives are achieved. I'm thinking about implementing HDR. I had a fairly successful test run with it. The upcoming version of UQE is a significant upgrade compared to the current v1.13 of UQE.

                    Is the texture pack project dead?

                      i don´t think the retexturing project is dead. inkub0 has some other work to do - like new heretic textures and q1 lights.

                        i'm working on reskinning objects, but textures that i miss are very complex. they are work for a manual artist, not for a graphic but i'm doing my best sorry...

                        (and i'm working on DoE RTLIGHTS ;P )

                              • Hey guys,

                                I would just like to let you know that UQE 1.14 is done.
                                Its a significant improvement over v1.13, you'll see some of the major changes that I've done when you look at the change log.

                                The only reason the download is not free, is just to save me on hosting/download costs, since hosting and bandwidth costs are not cheap here in South Africa. This will at least keep the download bots at bay.
                                I'm also trying to get out of my boring business programming job and try do game development/modification for a living.

                                I don't mind at all if you share the binary between yourselves, thats no problem at all.

                                The release took longer than expected, because I wanted to make sure this release is perfect. I don't expect any problems, but if you come across anything, please let me know.

                                The gallery is also up, check it out.
                                I'm also releasing an update of my Microsoft XNA based Quake2 renderer within the next few weeks. I've added MD2 model rendering and also made quite a number of rendering improvements. Hopefully one day this renderer will become a complete engine that can be used to run Quake1, Hexen2 and Quake2... my 3 all-time favourite Id Software games!
