Doom 95 problems

I've decided to install Doom 95 on to my computer but I appear to be getting a few problems. The first is that the sound doesn't work, only the music does even when I have the volume turned all the way up and the second is when I try enabling mouse support it doesn't work.

That fixed my mouse problem, but still no sound. I searched on those forums, found nothing.

Use a decent engine Doomworld -- Source Ports and copy over your .wad file.

Fuck engines, I want the original shit. If I'm going to use an engine I don't want any fancy add-on crap.

Sadly getting that to work properly on modern systems would be more of a headache than helpful.
ZDooM is what I've used and you can DISABLE all the fancy add-on crap and just simply have DooM like it was before.

I agree with Disco.

If you want it as "old doom" try dosbox its a dos emulator, and you just have to mount your drive that your doom 95 is installed on and load it via like you would in dos days.

Aside from that your only other options are as others said Zdoom (great client) or other engines that people have developed.

Ok then use DosBox or an W95 Virtual Machine. In many engines the eye candy could be deactivated so there is no difference to the original...

I've found a source port, this will do for now. I just want to play vanilla Doom. What I found SO fucking stupid is that they don't have an executable that just lets you run Doom normally, no add-on crap.
