Quake has always had trash talk and players that talk "shit".

That's never gonna change.

There are 3 options for dealing with trash talk:

1. Humiliate trash talker by owning them. If you want to do it right, a screenshot and a demo are added bonuses!
2. Play on a server where that player doesn't play (Fear, for instance.)
3. Ignore it realizing it happens all the time or use con_notifytime 0 (con_notifylines 0 works even better in JoeQuake/QRack).

I refer to these options as Own|Run|Ignore.

Option #3 is the best option, although #1 is the most fun.

Truth is, I like playing against players that talk trash more than against those that don't. It makes me play better and enjoy playing more.

im not saying to become a tree hugging pacifist hippy, all im saying is you're constantly on the brink ready to fucking leap on anyone that frags you, and having a key bound to "1v1 RA newb?" each time someone frags you and having other keys bound to flood the server with insults to them is just unnecessary and shows how much you like to take the game juuust a tid bit too serious. i wouldnt give 2 shits if you fragged me and left it at that, but you like to rub it in with your huge fucking ego. so your better than most people, you want a fucking cookie?
