A Malice Icon

Practically the same as my Shrak icon. I was just practicing Photoshop...



2nd Version: Okay, let's face it, the one above is pathetic. So, here's a new one! Found a way to remove the black background "the right way"
The font is called "TriumphTippa Regular" (Included). This one is a lot more decent, I think.


3rd version: I wasn't happy with the text logo. Plus the M letter was a bit out of the frame. Looks like this is final.

No, of course not! I'm not an artist( And I'm only learning Photoshop. This is just a practice...
That's the highest resolution render of Damage I could find (320x534). Sadly it was a jpg on black background, that I had to remove, hence the terrible pixelation. There is a transparent gif, though, that looks quite similar to this Icon of mine, but it's of even smaller resolution (226x304).
I ran the image through some filters and also deleted the black background (and a part of his left shoulder along with it, as you can see). If only I could define the font, I could recreate the text, 'cause it just screams out "I've been upsized!"

Do not be sad. This forum is borked and has some issues, as you know.
I like your Malice Icons, but I am only using shortcuts for mods that I play.
So I do not really 'use' icons.

I remember there was a thread about Quake icons, which covered almost all famous mods. As far as I remember also conbacks have been created. DeadTenor was one of the artists if I am not mistaken.

It shows that you really like Quake.
Like the most of us here.

@hgdagon (second most recent post) - I think you are being too critical. The final image looks really good. The title of this thread has the word "icon" in it, which means these images are actually supposed to be very very small. If anything, your self-critique should revolve around the fact that these images are far too detailed to be icons. And maybe the fact that it isn't proportionate icon dimensions. The collage is pretty good though.

Um...sorry? The preview in the 1st post is sized 512x512, which is only used in Mac icons, as far as I know. The archive, on the other hand, includes an *.ico file sized 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, and 256x256. I don't really understand why you think it's not proportionate...

The collage is pretty good though.

As I already stated above, it's not made by me, sadly. It was downloaded from the Official Malice Website.

@download=proper icons - my mistake. I never downloaded your pack. I just looked at the big image and it didn't seem square. All I did was eyeball it though.

@didn't make collage - you didn't even put the word in? You posted the font... isn't that what makes it a collage, bringing separate images together?

Yeah, I just misunderstood the word "collage". I thought you meant Damage's art.
Yes, I looked for a font that would look similar, and typed the text.

Thanks! I also updated the Shrak icon (in case you didn't check it out yet). I'm still not happy with it, but can't really find what's it missing...
