  • Regular Quake Server.......no CTF or Rune

Was just wondering if anyone knows a few good servers with just regular Quake.....no C.T.F. or Runes or any of that stuff. But of coarse you have to be able to use the hook

haha, I was about to give you a leet answer until you mentioned hook

CRMOD allows hook (vote-hook) and RA also has a vote for hook (but you shall be shunned by a thousands stray deer if you enable hook in RA )

All the NetQuake servers in existence are listed there.

There are no servers to my knowledge that meet your criteria and have a hook.

However! You can go to quake.shmack.net:26002 and do

      1. vote-normal ... then ...
      2. vote-runes ... then ...
      3. vote-hook

And then you will have the server you are looking for to your exact specifications :d :d :d

It does? I don't recall CRMOD having that feature. Then again the docs for CRMOD are bulky but I am pretty sure CRMOD does not have vote-hook.

Hardly straight Quake, but Darkplaces mod deathmatch has offhand hook in it, which leads to interesting fights... though so do the insane weapons...

Dont let Sajt get the plasma wave, he will camp that shit like an enviromentalist in Yosemite.

Like Mindz said, quake.shmack.net:26002 is not CRMOD. That's Rune Quake in practice mode which is very much like CRMOD and in most ways a "super-CRMOD".

CRMOD doesn't have vote-hook (I just checked, although I was very certain it didn't before I checked.)

It's the only CRMOD that I know about so that's what I call it If I ask people in shmack if they want to go to port 26002, I ask if they want to play CRMOD. Most know what I'm talking about.

besides, I remember you (Baker) giving a rant about CRMOD at port 26002.

It's too bad all of the old DM servers went down.... like quake.fundy.net. That was a fun server.

Well, then you are going to be very happy whenever Yellow decides to announce a secret server that me, Yellow, Mindz, Phenom, Bryant and Spolied played on last night :d

It's not much of a secret when a Canadian knows it

btw, you spalled Spoiled's name wrong. She's been telling me how she's going to make you eat a fist full of rockets and grenades in the next encounter

Don't forget that there is still GCHQ, Blackhat and Topsid(x2) servers running as (non RQ) old style DM machines. And Jackhammer's Bigfoot server is pretty smooth with a wide selection of levels with (almost) everything voteable. The ping might be 'interesting' for those on the US/Canadian side of the pond but if you are looking for a RQ-free game then these might help.

                          Kind regards
