Yes, catools injects a string into the progs.dat, much like a hexeditor would work. So, it's no difference if the mapname was hardcoded or added by the admin. It will appear on the warplist and voteable and can be used in map rotation. I really need to wipe out the hardcoded warplist, and create text file with 1000 slots for admins to edit their own maplist. I cant see anyone playing clan arena on e4m5 for instance...

I'm working away at the moment but I'll try and jump on the NYC server as soon as I get back and check the current status.
As I get the impression that some players seem to want to play DM3 until they are found slumped dead over the keyboard , my objective here is to allow players the choice to select the sofDm3 map rather than foist it upon them. By adding a map to the warp list does that mean it will become a map that can be voted for, or that it will be part of an automatic map rotation, or both? I recall in Crmod and DM+ there were 2 distinctly different areas where you would set votable maps, and map rotations so, just to be clear, am I right in assuming the WARP list is the former?

monty u mean to add sofdm3 to the warp list?
if so just edit the .cfg file (cant remember the name atm)
then run catools.exe for it to add to the warp list

Hopefully sofdm3 will become the standard team game map , for clan matches

Just in case anybody needs it, SofDm3 (and SOFDM1) can be downloaded here and should already be on the Newyork CAX server (newyork.servequake.com:26004). Rook, I would be grateful if you could let me know if we need to do anything further to make the map available to the CAx mod (e.g. like you have to with RuneQuake map lists and CRMOD).
If anyone is wondering what SOFDM3 has to offer perhaps the following piccies might help

no, he finally put sofdm3 on dmtx, after a few year of requestion this map on the server,
