I thought that was basically CAx? Sounded like quite a few of the changes were similar to what CAx offers. And if you want the continuous jump thing there is literally one line of code to change in Playerjump (). The loadout system is intriguing but not sure I like the way it utilized it. And for adding timers for items that's not too hard either or just use CSQC to make a new HUD that includes timers for items. And just have all of it set to noob mode
It has gamemodes like freezetag, speedball, airshot, instagib etc. as well as things like practice mode which you get all weapons, ammo, and armor when you start to make it a even playing field. It doesn't do the unified ammo but that is a rather easy implementation i would think. Making all ammo types work on all weapons. But if CAx it is mostly not needed because you start with all weapons anyway.
GB just connect to cax.quakeitup.com:26000 or mia.quakeitup.com:26000 and type "commands" in console. There are about 5-6 different modes
instagib, practice, ffa, match, airshot, freezetag, koth, speedball and i believe that is it for right now. Eventually r00k said he will be implementing bots into the "practice mode" function.
Unfortunately the weapon balance is completely different in Q1.
I'm not sure what CAX does, does it have unified ammo packs and team oriented game modes such as freezetag too?
Yes It does actually!!
CAx is clan arena based rule set where you take 0 self damage except falling,
you spawn with full ammo
you can not hurt your teammate
there are variable ammo modes (unlimited, replenish, or deplete) depending on the admin settings.
Multiple Modes:
Clan Arena - Default match mode, up to 4 team.
Practice - basic spawn and frag anything that moves
Airshot - 1 on 1 mode where the bounce from splash damage has increased and the higher a player is off the ground the more damage they take
Instagib - 1 weapon 1 hit 1 kill
Speedball - Image quake rugby.
Freezetag - same rules as quakelive
FFA Clan Arena - up to 16 player/teams classic ca ruleset
KOTH - King of the Hill, 1 control point ffa style, fast paced respawn fragfest
and i was trying to add a zombie mode before Halloween..
