need some help

I remember this error for my quake. But i forget how to fix it. "the program can't start because glide2x.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

I don't even remember if there ever was glide2x.dll in the original Quake. Anyway, why would you want to run the game with the original engine???

oh its for when i try to run glquake actually.

I tried renaming opengl32.dll and it gets a little further and then crashes

OK, do you have actual 3dfx hardware or do you use nGlide or something?

In case of actual, GLQuake readme says you need at least Glide 2.31. I would recomend FalconFly Central, Home of the 3dfx File Archive for working drivers.

glide is from back in the day and I doubt you use a GPU that supports it anymore. Simply delete opengl32.dll and the 3dfx.dll.

I tried deleting them both. But i dont see any 3dfx.dll

any one of them. opengl, 3dfx or glide. You installed quake using your original cd?

basically

make a fir
quake
have id1 in that dir
install
what ever u chose client wise

proquake or qrack or darkplaces or Fte

that .exe should be in /quake

before u install said client
nothing else should be there
just an empty quake and id1
that should work
if not wake me up when im sober
ill fix it.!

@ ROOK!! LOL! Nice. Yes this is what I mean by delete those dlls. YOu don't need any of them unless they came with the engine you installed.

lol hddagon... I dunno what to do...

It's been so long since I've even had a computer...

The funny thing is back in the day it would be fixed cause I knew all this shit... wait a second.... fuck nah I don't remember.

lol okay so i hit open glquake.exe and the glquake grey icon in the middle of the screen goes on and then it goes to go to a black screen on the left then fucks up and windows trys to fix it and it crashes
