    I would like to play again sometime. I haven't quaked in years and even forgot how to make a config, but anyway Around what time (eastern time) and what days is servers usually most active?

      Players regularly frequent
      quake.shmack.net (practically any hour)
      dm.quaketx.com (late evenings,wee hours of morning)

      LTNS, config.cfg is made the first time you launch a game. install your quake again, the rest plenty of us still around to help you get multiplayer setup again.

                    I'll abuse my wrist (CTF is the most wrist wrecking mod I have ever played in Q1) if you'll abuse yours. I'm pretty sure CTF pickup games if played long enough could recruit some players!

                    Matthew (new guy frequenting the DM servers) said he wants to play CTF!
