    hi there! about 1.5 yr ago MadGypsy provided a clean qc with dpextensions/pphysics to a fellow quaker in the thread below.

    i'd like to start modding for darkplaces, still in the state of gathering info and resources, but i'm kind of late to the party and the link got broken in the meantime, alas.
    question is:
    anybody happen to have grabbed that file while it was available and still have it? if so, mind sharing it with me?

    I live with Gypsy. I'll tell him when he gets home. I'd upload it for you but IDK where a stable copy is on his laptop. He'll take care of you.

      wait, this simple for you to make. Just grab gb's clean qc, download physics and extensions off of LH's site and add the files to progs.src. The only thing you will be missing is gb's rotating doors, you could easily find that as well and simply add it to the src.

      Also, Gypsys QC comes with every radiant gamepack he ever made. If yoy can find an unbroken link for it it will be in the develop/CSQC/ folder

      I'll still tell Gypsy for you.

          no problem. He's on a date with some girl that is literally half his age (go gypsy! ), so it might be tomorrow before I can get him to make a new link.

                Um.... Anyways.... Here is his Virtuoso Pack. It is a very nice pack. To find the clean qc you seek with his additions from that original post check in GameDevelop/Game/Virtuoso/develop/compile/

                It has CSQC and SSQC source. It's a nice little development pack. If you need any assistance let us know!

                  this is nice, as my all projects are 10+ years old. I really havent dug deep into dp/fte to utilize their potential.

                  I wouldnt mind making some kinda Quake MMO, where its just a huge ass map with 64 players, monsters, etc.

                  Imagine it kinda like these new MMO's, ie DAYz, but in the quake universe! could be cool!

                    I'm sure there's a thread talking about it somewhere but I recall pushing a project with Zop (and maybe others I honestly forget it was so long ago) where you'd have all the maps in quake attached to one giant maps. However this massive size fucked with the limitations of either the server or the clients, or maybe it would have to be Darkplaces only. Something happened that made it not possible.

                    So all that got accomplished in this project was to see if a Darkplaces server could host a map that was dm1 through dm6 combined as well as host more than 16 non-darkplaces players. It could.

                    I found the thread(s). Nothing about why it wouldn't work out written in them. Maybe it was in an instant message. I remember there being a limitation in quake that prevented a giant map with every quake map in it.

                        im talking like an area that works for single player, and others that work for PVP.

                        or both

                        dunno...

                        i know that dm/ctf/ca isnt the game
                        those play on those servers

                        im talking about; drop yourself into an unknown map, in Quake.
                        all u have is an axe and a shotty.

                        run meet friends or shoot them steal their sh!t... etc.

                          @golden_boy - so you think me and gypsy are the same person. There seems to be a bit of that going around, but you are all wrong. When I move out of his house and stop using all of his devices to get online this will become more obvious.

                            Might be just size limit issue reached. I heard BSP2 is just like BSP but with bigger limits.

                              I did some bsp vs bsp2 tests and it seems like you really need to understand the formats to make a decision. It's possible to get terrible performance with bsp2 even though the same map runs fine in regular bsp. I cannot say why. I need to do more tests.
