Is there a connection between Quake and Pokemon? Personally, I think that the Scrag looks like Kakuna. But what do you think?

Quake is heavily influenced by H.P. Lovecraft material. Kakuna is just an anime insect cocoon with eyes. Wizards/Scrags look like flying reptile demons. I don't see the connection at all.

They was released the same year, that is a similarity I found, but that was the end of them IMO.
