  • Quake II stuff

Thought I'd share the Quake II stuff that I have.
    1. Bots - Only 2 of them: 3zb2 and Eraser, I don't know of any other
    2. Character Models - Astroboy & CyberDemon 2000, made by the guy behind X-Men: ravages of Apocalypse
    3. idftp - Some stuff from the old id Software ftp site
    4. Improvements - Mostly retextures
    5. Maps - A pretty lame collection of maps
    6. Mods - Some mods that I know of, bar those that grew to become standalone (like ActionQuake II or D-Day Normandy)
    7. Oblivion - Unofficial Mission Pack for Quake II
    8. Unseen - Unofficial Mission Pack for Quake II
    9. Complete Gamer - A CD with some Quake II stuff (There were at least 2 Complete Gamer CDs as far as I know)
    10. Total Destruction - A CD with some Quake II stuff
    11. Q2Test - Just what it says
    12. Quake II 2D - A fan game, don't really know who the author is, good to try once.
    13. Custom Engines - Custom Engines for Quake II. Berserker, QuakeIIXP, and Quake II: Evolved come with their own retextures.
    14. Tools - Editing tools for Quake II and all other idTech engines, bar idTech5

    Looking for:
    1. Quake2MAX Source Codes
    2. All the PlanetGloom Community made stuff
    3. Complete (more or less) set of Quake II maps, like seen here, I've already e-mailed Jim Waurzyniak, he said he'll look for stuff, but if you know of another place, please, let me know.

If you're looking for Q2 stuff, the best places to ask are Tastyspleen forums (tastyspleen.net::quake 2 community) and The Quake 2 cafe (Home | The Quake 2 Café) I guess.

The one place that had it all was a website (FTP server) called "The Quake 2 Warehouse". But you're late, it closed down some time ago I think. Parts were saved by people if I remember correctly, just ask at Tastyspleen.

      @dfsp_spirit

Tasty Spleen's files section has archives named "all-maps.zip", "all-sounds.zip", etc. (basically a "portable" QII installation without executables), but not separate zip's. If you take look at my "Maps" folder, you'll see installers with a bunch of maps packed together (and I think most of them are missing readme's), which is pretty much the same. But I want to collect maps exactly as they were released by their respective authors. I didn't try asking on the forums, though, which is the next thing I'm gonna do. Tanks a lot.

James has uploaded some stuff to his website. I have reuploaded them to my Cloud drive already. I will add more maps, though.
