  • Darkplaces setup

So I loaded the latest Darkplaces (I'm running Windows 10 64 bit) to play Quake I.
I had to create an ID1 folder and put the (original quake) pak files in there.
I realised the music wasn't NIN.

After reading SO many things and not finding a solution for Darkplaces I figured something out.

In the ID1 folder is a file called "quake1_music_diabolipak.pk3"

This is a replacement music file from someone named Matt and the music is from his bandcamp (self-created) music files and it is compressed so I used Winrar to open it.

I had to delete the music files in there and replace it with the NIN tracks .ogg

    sound/cdtracks/(02-11)

Works fine since then. Sorry Matt but your music is not as good as Trent's.

So I got the music working correctly and I enabled the "r_stereo_redcyan [1]" cvar in the console.
    also "r_stereo_separation" "12"
(I know it makes the guns look doubled but I like a heavy 3D experience when playing.

I love stereoscopy and I have those red/cyan glasses so it works fine.

Here are a couple screenshots running in 3d.

    Just sharing idk...

    Hello nameeman,

    I feel you.
I went through the same hell and eye strain, when I figured out this Darkplaces feature.

    This engine is great.

    Have fun,
    Seven
