I will review your list when I am polishing up and see which of those I can do.
It does have a "pretty water" -- a couple of different ones --- and I want a foreboding feel .. I'll check out the above.
Thank you.

I am going close to releasing something interesting and it uses some SMC-like stuff.
With all the creativity and quality content put in to SMC the answer to that question would probably resemble a shopping list. At the top of my "would like to see" list but in no particular order would be the various death anims which I feel are are fun and contribute to the supernatural / haunting / demonic feel to Quake, the glowing nails and SNG barrells are also quite effective, Pretty water and reflections are all eyecatching.
If you need any other suggestions please let me know.
Kind regards

(Yes, bones and skulls. I have thought of techniques to make surfaces not look boring and flat and one capability q3map2 -- the Quake 3 community ever evolving map compiler has -- is abilities for a texture to emit models randomly with random sizes and angles. I use this not only for for bones, but also for surface imperfection "decals" -- this makes the same texture over and not look the same).
"decals" because they aren't quite decals -- in q3map2 a decal is projected and clipped to a surface -- my trick does neither, but generates a one-sided quad with a decal-like alpha texture via a model with just a quad. I do use some real decals to dirty up an area a little. I think the lack of clean and lack of uniformity gives atmosphere.)

Love the detritus (are they bones?) on the floor, and the broken brickwork, Its starting to look very atmospheric.
I'm just curious but does this work in conjunction with Seven's superb SMC mod? I imagine as they are seperate mods they probably dont but it was worth enquiring
Keep up the good work Baker.
Kind regards

Hey Gulliver,
Linux binaries will come with #90. The process for building the Linux binaries is a bit of work for me. I have Linux via WSL on this laptop, but the binaries compiled with it use an incompatible version of GCC that will not work with any other Linux. So I have to have a separate "truly Ubuntu" machine do the compiling.
I try to do Linux binaries regularly, the standalone Windows builds mean I've coded a lot of new things and just want to get what I have done as a checkpoint.
I'll try to get #90 with a Linux binary out before the end of this week.Last edited by Baker; 04-15-2025, 04:30 PM.

Looks neato. Any chance of Linux binaries for 89? I appreciate that they were made available for 88.
