to save myself from forgetting:

darkplaces can write files from quakec, you could keep track of achievements by name

[Canadian*Sniper]

Sounds fun, but how would you keep track of people's achievements? I don't like the idea of disconnecting and losing all my achievements.

They're temporary and are only mentioned when they happen. It's not like in Valve or Microsoft games where achievements are attached to your user id. It's more like Quake3's medal system except without the medals showing on your HUD.

Ask the turtle for his opinion ,

It's a mod I started a half a year ago where I made some minor changes in weapon damage and such then asked the everyone on this forum or on the server for their positive and negative feedback. With that feedback I made more changes and here's the status that it's at right now: http://www.quakeone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2509

To answer you question it's DM revolved around having more fragging and balance. It doesn't have anything outrageous like runequake (yet)

[Bam]

What is NewDM about? Do you have a text document describing it or can you just give me a run down? Does it stick to dm style playing or does it add runequake stuff/wierd mods?

I added Achievements to the NewDM wish list. Achievements would be a certain announcement after a player fulfills a certain requirement. Achievements don't serve any particular purpose except to congratulate or humiliate the player. Each achievement should have a unique name like DOMINATION, REVENGE, or CHEETAH, depending on what the requirements are.

Examples could be:

• 10 frags without dieing
• 20 frags without dieing
• rocketjumping really friggin high
• bunnyhopping
• getting 5 frags in 10 seconds
• getting 10 frags in 20 seconds
• getting 5 axe kills
• killing a player who has the pentagram
• 5 Suicides
• 10 deaths in a row without getting any frags
• 20 deaths in a row without getting any frags
• Kill the player dominating you
• etc

Got ideas for achievements? Leave feedback here

When you give achievement suggestions, please include the following:

1. The name of the achievement
2. The requirements for the achievement

Please keep the requirements simple. I don't want one like this: "grab the RL, do a RJ, frag someone, jump in the water, choke to death"
