Clan Arena is a last man standing mod where you spawn with 200 red armor + all weapons + a decent supply of ammo.

There aren't any items at all (no health boxes, ammo, powerups).

Funny thing, i coded an FFA mode which is true lastman standing. but on dm3 its a true fish-in a barrel arena but could be fun on q1edge. But CA is a team based kill or be killed game. Great teams can organize strategies to flush out/trap and pick off opponents and dominate the map. This can be accomplished by communication, map knowledge and/or great use of rocket jumps. Also, frags are awarded by the amount of damage you inflict on the opponent on a damage basis. Since all players spawn at 200armor+100Health, frags are 300 damage points based. This also is a fair measure of the strong players, as frags are not awarded to people for just finishing the kill that a teammate started. it's arcade quake with a clean frag system and quick turnaround. Its a wonder newbs dont gravitate to it.

CA just felt overly difficult to me. I know I come from RuneQuake but come on! Even Tical/Quazy/Slugnut were killable (half the time), and when I was on that server it seemed I was the only noob lol.

Come to think back on it, the amount of spam around corners and from the bridge into that doorway (on that constantly played DM3) always arose suspicious from me.

This whole incident was just pathetic. Even if it significantly reduces the CA players base (as it seemed to have done), I am glad those pathetic cheaters have been eliminated lol.

Omicron made an excellent observation, and it is exactly how I felt. Hopefully now, more players will be inclined to get into CA and not be slaughtered left and right in an instant like I was (barely surviving 8 seconds into each round) and therefore discouraged by the whole experience. Now they\we can at least rest assured in peace that who they\we play is legit (in terms of the wallhacking).

I think it is important to NOT call this "anti-cheat", someone can still cheat bringing a bot.

It is anti-wallhack.

Wallhacking is the most inherently unfair cheat and also virtually impossible to prove.

I think thats the goal , so that people can choose what engine(quakeclient) they use.
Just the wallhack will not work.

We're not anti-newb, the problem is my friend there is a great rift between the bad players and the great players at CA, it makes the best players in CA a little impatient in terms of who they play.

By the way, I'm talking about SpeakNow, I don't know what CA is. I think that part got confused since it's not in the thread title.

But every time I play at SpeakNow I seem to be discouraged to play instead of actually playing, and frankly, they can have it all to themselves if they're going to be such jerks. I bet that's what they want anyway.
