Vis is not a perfect admin. However, the community is lucky he is one of the people who has control over many of the servers. No one ever appreciates what an admin does right, but everyone is quick to interpret minor issues as tragic injustices and abuses of power. I'm sure vis does some annoying shit sometimes. I've seen him jump to action as and admin when I felt no action was needed, and have argued with him over a lot of issues. Sometimes people just have a bad day, and sometimes well intending individuals differ over what is the best course of action.

Every time I'm on ca I'm constantly doing things to help the game work. I move players to other teams, spawn them in when they cc too late, prevent newbs from randomly joining the game and telling them what the correct etiquette is, sitting out to keep things balanced, etc. No one ever says anything about that, nor do I ask them to. I don't do it for credit I do it because thats what I can do to help the quake community so I can play my favorite game. But the 2 or 3 times a year there is some disagreement with some action I take, which is generally at the request of the majority of players, everyone comes out of the woodwork...yourself included...to portray me as a power crazy asshole. Just like 2 weeks ago I told Magnus to stop when he would /kill himself every round, even when he was the last one alive making his team lose. He said "I read the forums asshole, fuck you you're an asshole admin I can play how I want".

If you are unhappy with how vis is admining send him a polite private message saying what you think he did wrong. That may be less satisfying but I can assure you it would be more effective. Maybe you only posted that because you wanted to show that others agreed with you, but when you post a message like this it carries an implied antagonizing and aggressive tone that will assure that your message will not be heard.

I think people care. But I don't think caring is going to solve much.

You aren't going to change Vis -- at least it's not likely. If you wanted to do something proactive, you could try to get admin at the Clan Rum CTF server and play there or something.

What does anyone's opinion about an admin on his own server do?

Play there, don't, set up your own, play somewhere else, play something else.

I missed the games lastnight. I'm a little under the weather, and ended up going to bed early. I think we should have a demo man assigned to sunday nights or something and then post demos here. I think seeing demos might familiarize the game to a broader audience. Plus, knowing that one is constantly under observation might limit people doing embarrassing sh!t...

Your right, It would help promote CA or any other mod. I agree with Yellow though. Seems he is doing everything he can to promote a fair game. It's been a long time since I've play CA. Perhaps if more did that back then I would have kept playing the mod. Now I just envision Yelow Admins slapping my hand left and right if I were to re-learn all the rules. Plus I can't RJ.. never could w/o a script. Many have tried to teach me it just doesn't flow for me. Wouldn't mind jumping in once in awhile during the slow times.
