Solecord updated the CMS and some things will need rebuilt again.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

aguirre has a version of nehahra quake that adds some basic particle and colored lighting effects. it will run standard quake and any mod with the right command line. i added cel shading and outlining to it to run my mod:

SuperDuper Quake mod for Quake - Mod DB
      SuperDuper Quake 3.0

Look for updates to the downloads section (that includes maps) to start, if not be up, this weekend.

          Yah!

I was thinking keeping level structure while visually upgrading everything - esp. graphics wise - sort of futuristic-like Warsow with much more detail. Also make game physics more bounceable, dynamic and easier to play like Quake3; shrink size of players for more of them to fit on screen - and even maybe expand to 55 plyrs/ map. That would be good. And point&click ease of setup for connection to server with visual avatars complete with profiles.

And call it Quake1+. Simple yet deep.

2009 is the Year of Disco.

This is on topic. The topic reads " Quake in 2009 "
That is a very broad topic.
I said 2009 will be the year of disco. disco only plays quake. therefor 2009 will be the year of disco in quake.

If you think im off topic then you should change the scope of the title to something more specific.
            dont be a board nazi.
            thanks

I always thought the box in q3 that told you automatically where your team was, was pretty useful and would get rid of a lot of stupid team binds/team kills. But who plays team games anyway these days? this may have already been brought up but i dont feel like reading each reply at this point.

CA is a team based game that is prolific these days. Having a FULLBRIGHT triangle over teammates head's is pretty much a weak escuse of gameplay to sell a product. "Dont make it too hard, or they will be discouraged!".. grrr
Challenge the player and they will over come to ask for more. Play down to mundane then you can just play checkers....

Wait you mean the litteral text box of a list of teammates and there location. This would basically mean every client would spam their origin every n seconds vs, pressing their "%l" button as deemed fit. Increased bandwidth for eyecandy

Voice over IP might work better....

Hey I remember Quake responding in a PM if a player said "Where Are You?", it automatically responded for them so they didn't have to actually hit the %L

Where is this? What happened to it? Bring it back! Bring it back!

Lol! Ya I remember the XQuake days. Basically the client would parse "location?" in the datastream and stuff "%l\n" to their command buffer. It was kind of annoying. I know IOQuake has VOIP... but that's Quake3
