OMG, a wish list…. A whole can of worms to open. I LOVE wish lists….
I skimmed the threads to see if any of my ideas have been proposed, and I didn’t see any. Let’s see…
As a matter of fact Dread, yes, yes there is. I’d post on your referenced URL, but it looks so…crowed.
My apologies for my penchant of viewer windows… It’s just a cool idea I can’t let go of. When I think of a multi-player team game, Quake, and the ‘what if’…I can just come up with a billion things.
--------
Alright…Your playing a 4 vs 4 game…you wanna know where your teammates are… You hold TAB to see the scoreboard and to view your three PIPoPIQ (Picture In Picture of Players In Quake). Three mini windows centered below the scoreboard that show first person perspective of what your teammates are experiencing real-time.
--------
Remember in Quake 2… there is this communicator voice that tells you your mission? In a Q1 match…Instead of typing out “MEET ME @ RL Splint!!” or typing out all these acronyms to communicate to your team…. How about a simple console language that will announce audible instructions based up what’s on the map, what ‘player number’ you are on the score board, and a variety of other whatnots…
i.e. much like to would use the ‘say’ command (You type in the console): com pl1 pl3 meet at rl
A voice is then only heard by player 1 and player 3 that they need to meet at the rocket launcher.
