Supposedly the DirectX 8 ProQuake 4 should do well on Windows 7.

I don't have Windows 7, but people who have tried this version of ProQuake 4 say that it works well:

        I got it!

I got it, after I update w7 with the Mobile Intel R(945) chipset which controls graphics.... I can play again with glpro 3.99 and 4.0.... all u have to do is to upgrade the driver... thatīs it....

TY v. much for the replies, they gave me some ideas.....

It didn't work very well for me. It looked like shit, as in regular out-of-the-box GLquake (yes I did manually put in my paramaters... -width -height -bpp), and I still had FPS drops whenever I picked something up.

Quake 1 doesn't work at all ever since I got Microsoft Windows 7. I can only run the Engines like Darkplaces or Qrack.
