FvF and Rquake Co-op are shutting down.

I quit hosting my Rquake server when Kong started his up and the powers that be switched the Rquake slot on the Quakeone Server Browser over to his (doesn't make much sense to host a server that isn't even going to be seen by 90% of the Quake community). Apparantly, that server went down, so we don't have a Rquake server now.

hey, i just dropped in to say that i downloaded "Steam", and i have been buying and playing some new games on the market lately and have not been back to good old RQuake (which i believe is down for updates) and FvF, but you that is hosting the best (and only?) Quake co-op server, don't worry, i will still be on it and come back to play forever! i guess i also wanted to say that i am a loyal and die hard Quake online co-op fan and definitely will be back here and there to play, l8r.

I am hoping to breathe a little life into the runequake coop scene with my new map pack. It won't be out for some time though.

Dunno. Rquake crashed a couple days ago when spooker switched to an experimental map, that's about it. I did reboot the server today, but I checked to make sure nobody was on before I did so.

why does the FvF and RQuake servers disappear, then reappear a lot? f0q are you just doing some tweeking on them? doesn't seem like people know about these 2 servers being back up, unless players just kinda took a break or something, seems there used to be more action (players), idk i use an oldschool version of GameSpy and inserted the servers manually because i came here when i first seen the servers were gone when ORL was done hosting.

you're awesome you know, if it ever comes down to it i would donate to help keep FvF alive, and maybe, only if needed, ask for donations on the FvF official website, because money does suck these days and FvF is a stress reliever!

oh yeah! the FvF & RQuake servers work great! awsome job, just remember if u have troubles hosting in the future, post about donating for the cost. Quake forever!

I had all the computers except my gaming computer off (meaning the host for the quake servers) for diagnostic purposes. The server is back up now.

None of the U.S. runequake players will play on a server other than shmack. Fear's a pretty cool place, but rarely do I get a positive response if I ask someone to play there. For this, I blame Jer...

what did u do with your RQuake server, i needed that, i don't play like all the time, but when i get the itch to kill some hard to kill monsters, i gotta kick back in an RQuake server? what is "fear"?

ORL: Thank you for running the RQuake server for the last few years. Although the mod hasn't been actively worked on in a long time, it's still got a lot of good ideas (and a few ideas that I really don't like, but most of those weren't my decisions...). I doubt that the mod will die because your server is going, and not just because of the servers that are still running it.

Money is a bitch at these times, but it's good to know that this isn't goodbye...
