2/3 of my regretted posts are on a Friday night when I went out and came home and read a post that irritated me and posted something I wouldn't have normally done.

I'm sure if you dig deep enough, you'll find a post where someone asked in this forum for Quake 3 mapping help and I -- in a very uncool way -- referred to the title of this site instead of directing him/her to a place they can find the answer.

The first rule of compassion is that we all make mistakes.

The second rule of compassion is that people are deliberately and ongoingly causing problems are not subject to the first rule (Kimp lately, others in the past that you know of that have required "adult supervision" ... sigh).

I think everyone knows that and no one that knows him holds it against him.

Still that kind of thing cannot be posted in this forum.

First, it creates a very negative impression of the community to anyone seeing it. Furthermore, there is always a supply-chain in any web site ... the web site host, the server host, their providers and such ... and it is simply unacceptable to do anything that is jeopardizing any of the terms of service that any of those companies require that cause QuakeOne.com to be hosted.

This is one reason that, for example, posting porn is an automatic ban. It is also, among many reasons, that posting illegal links to pirated Quake is not allowed.
