I deleted them. As well as many others that were off topic for the thread. Spam, personal attacks, trolling. ECT ECT. If you want to talk about Kimp make a thread about it don't muck up somone elses thread. Thanks.
Who has the twitchy delete finger here at the forums?
Is deleting my shit supposed to change the situation somehow?
I have to agree with Mindzy... I have found a new appreciation for keeping threads... even the really bad ones... I don't mind moving it over to an appropriate category if need be... but you know how things start to roll.
When I was newer here, I would read old threads and get kinda pissed off, and request that threads be removed because of their offensiveness...
Now that I've been here for a little bit, a lot of the stories are coming together... and personalities start becoming more typical.
There was one thread right before the The Wolv & Splint Thread that was pretty dam funny and active, before it got selectively chopped up. There were some nice gems in there.
I didnt delete any threads. Just deleted the posts that didnt pertain to the topic of the thread.
Thank you, Souless, for bringing this to our attention. I appreciate that moderated threads work better when the posts stay on topic and sometimes intevening helps. I would add that the issue here isn't whether threads have a topic and need to be moderated, but how responsibly to moderate a thread and respect the efforts and contributions of the forum members. You're probably already aware that there are a number of ways to moderate a thread:
Let posters know in the thread that they're veering off topic.
Send a PM to one or more posters letting them know they're off topic.
Creating a new thread and moving posts to that new thread.
Closing a thread in recognition that the topic has been exhausted.
Perhaps there are even more.
I believe most people would agree that deleting an existing post ought to be reserved as a last resort in cases where there's a severe violation of rules or law. Instead of choosing any of the options above, you chose to delete several posters' statements. I'm not OK with that.
As I'm confident you're interested in performing as a responsible moderator and in respecting the forum users, I would like to suggest that you retrieve the posts you've deleted and put them in a new thread. Additionally, I would also like to suggest that you explicitly post here or somewhere conspicuous the rules pertaining to forum posts for future reference. Because some might regard your actions as whimsical, unwarranted, or abusive, I want to prevent this from happening again in the future. Everyone will appreciate you more for doing so.

Cry cry cry.... That's all you ever do Demi... About everything... In fact.. I bet there is one post out of your 38 you arent crying about something...
There's a word for it and that word is "threadcrapping". It's quite annoying to see how almost every recent thread has so rapidly degenerated into rants about Kimp and accusations of "you're gay"/"no you're gay", and it's good to see some positive action being taken.
QuakeOne is actually very lightly moderated compared to some places I've seen, but even so I would argue that the mods are perfectly within their rights to deal with any objectionable material as they see fit.
At one point I said I wouldn't be letting this happen. But i was busy working so I havn't had time to read the forums. I get off work and all I read is shit about Kimp and the stupid useless personal attacks. I'm sorry you are pissed about me deleting your useless crap about kimp and personal attacks. I will continue to do so no warnings about it at all. If you don't like it don't post the crap you are posting.
If you really would like I can get a set of forum rules together and post it. It will be a strict set of rules. I bet more of you would rather I don't then I do.

i don't know why you quoted MH for this reply, no only does it seem like he is encouraging you to take action but he has never posted any useless crap about kimp.

If you call allowing kimp to continue his existence on the forums and quake servers a "positive action being taken" , then you obviously don't allocate yourself with a common community of "Net Quake - PLAYER - PERCEPTION" that kimp has never been "Good" for this community. turn a blind cheek, I'm the one who laughs in the end. I've already tossed my chips in on the whole situation, now rather than aim to aid the situation, i'm just telling it how it is.
Unfortunately, I haven't been one to turn posts into "you're gay"/"no you're gay" so your presumption of the topic I started here, and the removal of MY individual posts is inaccurate at best.
I guess the problems of people who 'actually play quake' really warrant no further understanding other than its become annoying to yourself, and any means to ending the kimp-fest is okay in your book. Thats fine, but don't expect the situation or present state of the quakeone.com to change anytime soon. Souless will have plenty of work ahead of him as well, which is fine by me too. I dont mind generating "Things for him to overly-moderate" involving kimp.
This site would not exist if it were not for Mindzfield, plain and simple. Not an exaggeration whatsoever.
Mindzfield was a diehard supporter of Quake with 100 Quake players in his instant messenger and was a vital force to be reckoned who got us server support and a million other things we needed back in the day.
And he has headed 3 *real* clans -- not those things where someone makes some ugly prefix and 5 player who change their name every day decide to use it for a week or 2.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.
So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...
