Disco and I were the only players on speaknow earlier and repetitive messages of "new player would like to join" kept popping up during our 1 on 1..


I'm not sure whether this is connected or not but I also experienced ping problems .. consistently at 1k ping until I reset my router..

It happened throughout the day.. I would right click repair my net through desktop... log back onto speaknow.. 20 ping for about 2 minutes and bam back to 1000.. it wouldn't go away until I actually reset my router which refreshes to a new ip for me.. then I'm assuming "he" has to find out my new ip and try again..

the CC protection is necessary Joe.. many people just join in during good games and screw up the whole thing.. including myself out of impatience .. so you should keep it.. he gives up after a little while anyway (I might have just jinxed it since he trolls).

What time was this? I had fatpipes revert to a more stable proquake earlier...

I think I might just turn CC voting off if this happened after the change. Anyone opposed to this?

well....... i was not around when kimp Pissed everyone off and was caught for these things so... i dont know if hes a bad guy or what but hes been nice to me and yes that demo that badaim posted about a week ago called kimpbottingagain / i status and identify'd him and yes "Hej" was in there so i asked him why and he said that the other player wanted to play against him with a bot so i still dont think it was cool for him to use a bot.................. =\

I didn't think to record a demo, till, a little later, spoon was there earlier not sure if he was still there when i started to record a demo or not, as i haven't watched the demo yet.

However, notice in the demo how i am not typing yet i'm asking stupid questions? (that is kimp), who was playing by the name (book) or rather wasn't playing and was just asking dumb questions with my name while i tried to play quake.

I only recorded it, because it was starting to piss me off as he wasn't letting off, normally he'd stop or i suppose would get kicked before hand, but nobody kicked him nobody had fucking admin... and uh... yeah.

Kimp has distributed modified versions of ProQuake authored by me without providing the source code or including an offer for the source code and failed to provide the source code to various people (like MH) upon request. He has violated the GPL license agreement, an agreement of which I hold partial authorship and therefore full rights.

However, I am not a jerk [at least not that much of one]. I am going to pursue removing Kimp from the community in the most honorable and ethical manner which means pursuing it from the ISP level first and going from there.

Should my efforts with ISP intervention fail, I will escalate from there. But at this point, it doesn't matter if Kimp were to reform or even permanently disappear from the community, I think all of this needs to be pursued and reach a resolution.

I will not be commenting on this publicly any further.

There is no absolute or ideal solution. Many here will be grateful for whatever steps you can take. Kimp isn't alone in appearing to be high functioning yet also potentially having much deeper issues:
