      • Hi!

        ubermensch here!

My real name's Cormac. I'm 22, going on 23. I live in NYC, where I was born & raised, but I hope to move to Buffalo for uni, and continue my studies in Holland and then work & live in Finland.

I've been playing Quake since the demo came out, when I was a wee pup of 12 years. From 1996 - 1998, I played at this place on Staten Island called The Labb, which was a free internet cafe for kids...long before anyone knew what an internet cafe was!

I bought Quake of my own in June of 1999 and found out about Gamespy by chance from a fellow AOL member. Where would I be today if not for her? So I started playing online on my 28k modem 2GB HD 24mb RAM P100 computer. I almost miss that computer. Not.

Regarding names, I originally played as Vassago, then was known as derelict, and finally settled on ubermensch in 2002, which I've been using since.

That's about it for now. I plan to play Quake until no one else does, maybe someday if I strike it rich, or even if I don't I'll set up DM & CTF servers of my own in Europe. I miss those days.

Anyway, here are the active/dead servers I remember I've frequently played on in my life. Anyone remember or play them?
        • ElectricLlamaland - 207.99.85.67 R.I.P. - DM
        • NAC Quake - 207.99.85.69 STILL GOING - DM
        • Hating - quake.hating.com R.I.P. - CTF
        • WIDOMAKER - quake.widomaker.com R.I.P. - RQ
        • Trinicom - quake.trinicom.com STILL GOING - CTF
        • Mtown - ca.mtown.com R.I.P. - CTF

I miss my friends on those dead servers who I hardly see anymore. Any of these names familiar to y'all? Any of them still playing, maybe at other servers?:
        • CookieMonster
        • The nygma clan
        • Sgt. Pepperspray
        • QueenVikingWoman
        • Werbilpak
        • LiLQSiS (aka GRNEQDWTCH)
        • Comicman
        • AllyMcBeal (What a loudmouth! Surfer's long lost twin, perhaps? ahahaha)
        • PainKiller/PK (A CTFer: the male version of Surfer--LOL)
        • Wazie
        • CockofRock (I still remember his quote: "The **** must discharge"...ROFL!)
        • deuces (I nicknamed him "douches" haha!)
        • vodka
        • mr. burns[aas]
        • Aimee (aka Amy)

All this nostalgia has me misty eyed. I think I'll go RQ and forget my troubles. I miss all my old Q pals!

        Your pal,
        Cory

Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

I started mostly playing on heat.net before it became lame and I finally got smart and downloaded Gamespy. I tended to play a lot of Artifact servers and all of those misc. mods like Headhunter and the like. Then I found IHOC in 1999 and it's been my home ever since!

                              • Hi im Ef3ss. Started in 97, brings back memories everyone mentioning all the servers.. someone mentioned its odd remembering an old ip address, I still remember this: 199.72.175.4 after 8 years.. Been off lately, but might hit the servers a few times this summer- I only do CA+. I do recognize a few names on this thread, but im guessing most people are dm/ctf/rq
