Hi my name's Bryant and I enjoy playing first person shooters.
The first game I ever played was probably either Pac Man or Demons to Diamonds on the Atari 2600, then Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 and 3 on the NES.
My first FPS was Turok: Dinosaur Hunter on the N64 when I was 5, which probably has contributed to my love of blood, gore and fire arms. My Grandfather introduced me to computers at around the same time and eventually when I was given a computer of my own, my love of first person shooters and interest in computers combined and I devoted all of my time to playing Half-Life. Unfortunately, this was in 2002 I think, so I missed a lot of the classics, but in the past couple of years I've bought and played a lot of them including: Quake, Quake 2, Doom, Doom 2, Wolfenstein 3D and so on. I fell in love with Doom 3 when it was released, but was depressed by the let down of Quake 4, as I'm sure everybody was. I'm still a youngin', 6 years short of the age I can start legally drinking (that is, I'm 15), so I have a lot more years to spend playing first person shooters on my PC. I'll always have a place for Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Quake in my heart. :d
Oh, and that PC I got was an HP a305w with a 2.7Ghz Celeron proc., 512MB PC-2100 (I think it was 2100, upgraded from 256MB), and integrated graphics. I struggled with Half-Life on that thing, 16-bit color at 640x480 and I struggled to hold 15fps. After I got this computer I started to spend a lot of time learning myself about computers and the components within them, which would later be of use.
A year or so after I got it, I heard about Half-Life 2, so what did I do? Well, I talked about it with my Grandfather and one of his buddies, which is now my buddy, came over after I bought the parts and supervised while I built my first computer. Asus K8N nForce3 250, Athlon 64 3200+, 1GB PC-3200, 128MB 9600XT, 250GB Hitachi, NEC Dual Layer CD/DVD/+/-/R/RW, etc. This was in 2004. In 2005 I upgraded to a 256MB 6800GT, this year I added a second gig of RAM and more fans, and now I have what I've got today.
I'm a total nerd.
