Hi quakers

Hi Everyone,

When I first played quake long time ago, I thought no game could ever be as beautiful, and I think was right, even if the technology evolved, Quake is unique. Well, I might be totally wrong as Quake is the only game I play ;-P

I've some mapping experience with HL, and TyrQuake was the first engine I found to properly run on my box, I started some tweaking on breathing movement until the day I realized I wasn't alone at all. I switched to JoeQuake recently and was quite amazed how different are both engines source code.

Sorry if my english is approximative, I'm a fucking freedom fries frenchie guy.

Hi My name is ammy im from Canada and im a big Fps fan i joined this site because i got very interestd in the mods and such being created.


If i could get a link a full version of quake 1 that WOuld be awsome. Thing is i cant find it for pc anywere i go i can onyl find it for ps1.

It would be illegal to link you the full version of quake so we can't do that. There are alternatives like baker's legal compilation called Synq

i got onto my shareware version and put in the map pack in, but when i tried to go online the tcp\ip wasnt available for me to use. why is that im on broadband

Quake doesn't have a server browser like BF2 does for example. You have to actually open up the console (by pressing the ~ key) and type "connect blah" where blah would be whatever you're trying to connect to, for example quake.shmack.net

ive been playing quake since around the time of its release. i would skip school and go over to my friends house and play. i didnt start playing online until around 1999 tho and ever since ive been hooked with quake 1 and 2, not too much on 3 tho :p

so i found this old cd case in my attic with quake in it
installed it
came across this site
downloaded dark places and the rygels texture pack

all i can say is "im really really really glad i went digging through the fucking attic"

Hey all, I'm s1n.

I started playing in 1997, as macross, on mplayer orginally but soon left when I joined clans like DbS and SoF, playing mainly CR, and moved on from there. With all of our leaders moving on to real lives =), I changed my name to s1n and started playing runes where I found a thriving community at widomaker and shmack. Need to know what engine to use

Hello all

I am a serious quake fan and am now thinking of making a video game with one of my friends. I do a little 3d modelling and he does animation. I'm wondering what would be the best engine to make a game with. Our game would only be a multiplayer death match but we were planning to sell it. Can you do that with quake one stuff or is it all id property?

My responses will be much better as I am in a big hurry
