Yeah, the humor of me not being a coder... Im friends with all of the really good coders it seems... I do the news for a coding and tutorial site... I hang out in the coding channels... Yet I dont code. Im much more of a game design kind of guy, I prefer to hash out ideas and inspire others regarding their own.

MauveBib is a very talented guy, as are a lot of people from that community... strange, the AI Cafe forum group is still mostly around in #qc, except for Coffee himself.

I think I've borrowed stuff off your Quake Expo Page. :d :d

        Sajt's Quake Expo Page

We were originally trying to get this site up in time for the Quake Expo and ... um ... well ... we kinda missed that by a few months/half a year/something like that.

Quake Terminus is the very first site listed on the left side nav bar that isn't a Quake Engine. It's there

Hi, I'm Tyrann and I've been playing Quake since '97 and making maps since '99.

I never really played a great deal online due to having a really bad modem connection for too long and by the time I got DSL, all the plain DM servers seemed to be empty all the time. So these days I just play with friends on LAN whenever possible, but mostly focus on the single player side of things.

On my site (http://disenchant.net) you can find all the single player and deathmatch maps I have released, as well as a few map compile utilities and my Quake engine, TyrQuake.

Good to see this site up and running and bringing together a few of the different Quake communities.

Welcome Tyrann, we are humbled that someone of your stature would join us here at the forum. A sincere "Thank you".

(Tyrann is one of the truly important, behind-the-scenes elite members of the map development community. Among other things, he developed an improved lighting utility called Tyrlite for maps which I understand is what was used for the Nehahra Project and an substantial portion of premier Quake maps. Lighting utility development is extremely complicated.)

Alright then.... i am madfox. My nickname was born when I made a graffiti in an old chapel for a Quake map with Qmap.

I got caught by Quake in the early 96, and since then rather occupied by the game.
From the first moment I was intrigued by its simple but diverse outcome of the play.
Not for long I wanted to make it in a part of my own imagination, but reached a moment mapping isn't as easy I thought.
Still it is a huge account of my inspiration, and I receive a lot of joy in playing it, and try to make maps in contribuary of this great game.

I have some maps on my website:

I thought alot of you might know me till I read some of the posts. Alot of people from alot of backgrounds here, I like that.

I'm a very old quaker and started playing around 96 or 97, it's all a haze to me now. I've never taken the game seriously and always play just to score what I can.

I'm sure that like many others I've gone by a million names. Tater Bob, Beaver cleaver, Dash Riprock and Chicawakawoo to name a few. Hope to contribute something positive

Hello, my name is Canadian*Sniper and I am a Programmer. I occasionally like to Cliff Jump in the summer and I'm always cheerful about life. If you think this will work between us then you can use my ID (666) on the dating service to leave me a nice, vocal message.

                        HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa kk

My real name is Daniel Smith and I've been a programmer working in the big leagues for a long time. I know languages from assembly to C# and I can create simple dos programs to web applications (like eBay).

I started playing Quake1 when it came out (or a few months after, whatever) when my bro installed it at his res. I would play at LAN parties at his university and eventually got it on my piece o sheit, dos computer. The sounds were amazing, I'd play 1player with the volume up because the sounds were just freakishly awesome.

Then I stopped playing after a year because I was bored... Then I started playing again around 4-5 years ago and played on the FvF server that Gunter has. It was a big hit on me that there were no Original unModded Quake servers left.

Now you'll find me in RuneQuake running around teasing people with the shotty as I've lost the will to win games. DAMN YOU RUNE QUAKE!!!!!

hehe I love venting, anyone actually read all of that?!

I suck + my quake setup is reconfigured so I'm trying to get used to it. Plus I havn't updated my Dual Weapons so I'm partially useless in Quake.

Hello my name is dave from wales uk and Ive been addicted to computers since I got my first commodore64 on which I also got interested in trying to make things with a program called Graphical Adventure Creator, mostly making stick men animation fights even though the program was designed to make text adventure games. (Dizzy should get a mention here as I spent soo many hours with that series of games).

Anyway many systems later (mastersystem, megadrive/cd, n64, gamecube) I got a Compaq Presario 4108 with its 1.2 pentium and blistering 16mb edo ram and onboard 16mb graphics, I was hooked especially to championship manager, and slowly noticing quake.

After that I steadily upgraded my pc to what it is today 3ghz athlon, 1gb ddr, Radeonx850 on a 19" syncmaster lcd. I like to play RTS vs a mate (dow esp), mmorpgs (playing anarchy off and on atm as it's free and have just recently quit wow after a year and swg a year before that). I also enjoy "trying to make maps" for quake and quake sp and would love to get into playing quake mp which I havent really tried much, anyone for 1v1 or ffa sometime?

Ive also been a member of Qboard, PeejNFribs, Qmap, func_msgboard for sometime but normally keep quiet as I cant make anything near the quality some of them produce :p Ive ran a few review sites for custom quake maps but Ive not kept them going long enough.

                                Soo... Hello

                                p.s. Love the arcade feature
