            • Hi,
              My name is Chuck also.
But you can call me Cannonfodder.
I have been playing since it was called "Commander Keen".

Unfortunately all that experience has not translated into skill.
But I have had a lot of fun...

I am really glad someone is keeping the game alive.

              Thanks to all involved.

                  • Wolfenstein 3D is dead. Quake is not dead. We have a living, growing community here.

                    • meet kbdrate (whoever that is).

Hi I'm kbdrate but I never played under that name.

Honestly it's been so long since I've played quake1 I don't even remember my aliases...

I started out playing quake1 DM then moved to a little CTF (especially midnight CTF!!). I also played a lot of clan arena but I never was very good at that. I just played it for fun. Finally I found my true addiction, Team Fortress (for quake1 of course) in the form of a sniper rifle.

Looking through these posts, it looks like almost all DM/CTF players. No TFers left? I left TF right about when MegaTF was springing up.

I've always wanted to get into map/mod design and I'm going to in the near future. I plan on doing quake1 and quake3/4 maps. I hope all the tutorials for quake1 aren't all 404s! (I plan on using gtkradiant to do all of the mapping).

                      • TF is an awesome mod, but I guess not so much people are interested in it. So noone is running a server. It would be sweet if someone could run a TF server. i've only played it once or twice, but I was amazed at how cool it was.

                        • Hi, I'm Lardarse, aka Gregory R. Payne. I'm 22, and from Bristol, UK.

I first started playing Quake when I was 13, when I borrowed the game from a friend that had it. It ran reasonablly well on my mum's P200 (we still have the computer), but I sucked at it. I'm not sure how it got deleted in the end, but I think it was because I had to reinstall windo$e 95.

After a brief affair with Q2test (which was horribly slow) I ended up playing Q3 for a while, before discovering that I could modify the game code to make it more interesting. Even though I knew very little C, I could do some very simple things with little effort.

That was until last year, when I rediscovered Q1, and found out that I could do exactly the same thing for that. And I've never really looked back...
                          16:03:04 <gb> when I put in a sng, I think I might need nails
16:03:30 <gb> the fact that only playtesting tells me that probably means that my mind is a sieve

                          • Lardarse, I've seen you around some of the various forums for a while now and wasn't quite sure what you did. Do you help on an engine project, map or mod, or just do things for your own amusement? I'm still trying to figure you out

                            • I am Ler R. Ster

Lots of people knows me from Max and former 3wavers might as well... i ramble a lot, though a little lesser these days i think... maybe i'm less drunk these days i don't know....

What i do know is i finally graduated high school after 8 years or something... yeah, YEAH! what an achievement... well sarcasm aside it is, good to have your diploma... so i'm told.

Anyways... my goal in life is to becoming a computer programmer on the side i study guitar and guitar theory, and all there is about guitars... still waiting on my new guitar part... a schaller floyd rose bridge assembly with locking nut....

Can't wait for that beast to be attached to my guitar... down side is even when the part arrives it will be awhile b4 i can get it installed as the cut outs and installation and intonation resetting on the guitar will cost $200+ err... though it could be less also.... never know with quick estimates over the phone. :p

Um, i'm an easy going fella... been quaking since i got my first computer back in 1998... i played from 96-up though at friends place... he got annoyed with me using his computer too often and kept telling me JUST BUG YOUR PARENTS LER you RULE THEM... just punch fatso (dad) and say BUY ME A COMPUTER.... so ....

Well i don't recall if i punched my father, but we did scrap time to time.... anyways (playfighting) nothing serious... um, but anyways i got it somehow... a PII-II mainboard (unfortunately i was too stupid back then to ask if i needed anything added ot the board to run duel PII 300mhz slot 1 chips... and of course i did... i needed an apci or something module .... a little chip that goes into a little slot on the mainboard... I think most duel boards now adays come with the duel processing apci unit that makes them work as a whole .... or whatever it is that it suppose to do....

In any case i think i had like 32mbs ram or 16... a 8mb graphic card... and like i upgraded my ram to 128mbs someday i forget when but i was living off a 16mb graphic card and winquake for ages.... well 8mbs as well in winquake for quite some time.....

Anyways i drifted from mod to mod... played some DM...CTF...3wave...CA...RA... and had some fun doing all of the above.

Now adays i prefer CA and RA overall....

Oh right my goal is to become a computer programmer and take a 2 1/2 year degree at deVry... though i still am iffy about that... wanna do more research on that degree for one... and not to eager to go that far in debt....

Anyways that's all i must be rambling again, i hope i didn't repeat myself....

well, my name is Jan Piechal from Stockholm, Sweden.
I play QuakeWorld but occasionally I play some singleplayer using darkplaces
Only played for a year and a month or so but I can't find any other game to play over and over again. Somewhat into qw movie-making but I'm sort of slow on that
