Also because you can't ever get rid of Kimp... no matter how many times you ban him, he can keep coming back. You know at least this much is true. If he starts acting up, then attempt to get rid of him. I see no reason to ban him and potentially piss him off if he's playing nice, since he can just come back anyway.

this isn't true. If you ever bothered to exist in NetQuake team oriented gaming server's you'd know this.Kimp is able to exist on only a handful of servers,and rest assured the one's that Badaim and Myself have admin at, he get's the hammer. There is still a very real desire to deny Quake for kimp, although as of lately he's been allowed to remain persistant.

I have no personal dislike of Kimp, but some of his part actions were an incredible insult to the massive efforts of the few who invest time, resources and servers in keeping this game alive.

But things are not so simple.

First, if this community is to grow we have to earn our way through problems ... not scapegoat. Many of us *could* have done what Kimp did. So how the hell can you expand without fixing the holes? If we had 10 times the numbers of players, it isn't like someone else wouldn't have done some of these things in advance. I *always* wanted to fix the REAL problems ... but before Kimp no one would listen or had an interest in tackling the real problems that would torpedo any expansion attempt.

Second, I can't think of anything bad Kimp has done in the last four months. But there are some dedicated players that like playing with him.

At this point, I am left wondering whether or not Kimp was just going through a dipshit phase. There really are not many of us that haven't, and you can't blame Kimp for server or mod vulnerabilities or indifferent server operators.

Kimp is one of the few people that expresses a deep enough interest in Quake that he has delved into a few different forms of Quake modding to attempt to further his interests.

Kimp can play a couple of different servers currently (the oddball HDZ port) and Tremor's server. If he caused problems at Tremor's server, Tremor would certainly get rid of him.

[None of this detracts from the value of efforts to police the servers, waking server operators up and getting more consistent administration is always important ... just remember, if it gets done well at some point you can recognize that your efforts changed the landscape (@ Badaim + Mindz.) Just don't forget to look and notice that.

If I'm all wrong about Kimp still being a nuisance, it must be the best kept secret ever.

kimp is banned from zero server. Its easy enough to do if you pay attention. Dm people just dont care.

in the past few months kimp has really contributed positively and helped in getting a lot of tg's going so i have no prob with him playing dm or in the tournament for that matter unless he gives a new reason not to..
he also started the idea of the tournament which in turn has gotten some more people playing dm again
seems like most of the people against him dont really even play dm
