  • I hope Baker is alright...

I am a little bit worried about Baker.

An absence since over 4 weeks is not usual for him.
I hope he is doing well.

There have been some harsh words during Quake Expo concerning him.
But "the man with the gun" is not the type of man who takes things like that too personal i think/hope.

Would be nice if anyone knows anything about his personal situation and is kind enough to post a line here.

Quakeone without Baker makes me sad...

    Regards,
    Seven

He had a lot of rods in the fire, trying to beat the deadline of QuakeExpo.
When the expo became reality, there could have been things that just weren't finished to his satisfaction.
Though, he may have moved to his secret lab to finish his army of femb0ts...

Someone robbed me of my imagery elsewhere, so the shrine move's here instead.

I'm sure Baker will return soon, along with his Boom stick intact!!

I'm sure he's fine. One thing I know for certain is that burn out follows an intense period of work as surely as night follows day, and Baker has been in quite an intense period of work lately. It's only speculation on my part for sure, but if I'm right it's a natural and normal thing and not worth getting too anxious about.

He went too deep into engine coding, and fell into the abyss. Only Ed Harris can save him now.

I've been through hell. A lightning storm killed my modem and damaged my physical phone line, my desktop will no longer boot and I've actually endured some real-life "fun" that shouldn't have happened times 3.

Despite these setbacks, since I make several source code backups, none of my engine work has been lost and I have been working on it every day. [The lack of easy internet has given me focus, ironically I had a contribution for Quake Expo but my Plan B internet option that day 6/26 was satellite internet and it was so overcast with rain I couldn't upload]. I sort of found this relieving since there were some issues that I could just not accept with my engine --- the type of stuff that only people like me or MH care about but royally pissed me off. I don't like the idea of releasing something with what I consider an issue.

I'll be back, but only when I have gifts to bear.

It is very relieving to see Frenzy picking up the slack.

Sorry to hear you've been having trouble Baker. I hope the real life problems are resolved sooner rather than later and you're back up to full speed. Frenz is doing his level best to try and "hold the fort" but I'm sure he'll be more than glad to see you back, with or without gifts .

                            Kind regards
