Interesting recent article about Quake

I'm often left to wonder if I'm the only person who didn't play Quake (singleplayer OR multiplayer) with mouselook. It was never an option for me. I tried enabling it and it did nothing unless I bound mouselook to a key. It wasn't until way after Quake's decline around 2000 that I was told you could type +mlook into the console and have it perma-enabled for that session. That's not what everyone was doing is it?

Just found this, pretty nice read. The guy misses out on a lot of things, but it's still nice to see Quake recognized nowadays.
