  • Fun with poses

One day the Ranger did like the coolest Ollie ever, and then he realized he didn't have a skateboard so, it was just weird.

I will post more poses here as time goes on. Note that any weird proportions are actually because I'm using perspective view. The closer you get to the camera the more strange it gets. I'm actually trying to exploit the weirdness to make the images a little more interesting. If I backed the model away from the camera a bit it would look more correct.

This one was tough and I know I didn't do that well. The "muse" is twisting his leg/ankle in an unnatural pose as it is*. I also noticed that my model is finally starting to have deformation issues. I really had to twist the hell out of it to get those issues though. I don't intend to fix them as of now though. I want to twist it up into a bunch of different poses and make a note of the issues I find then, go back and attempt to address them all at once.

*notice how the muses right foot is pointing dead at the camera but his knee is angled substantially in another direction. Honestly these kung fu guys look cool and everything in these poses and I'm sure that guy is bad-ass but, that has to be the stupidest stance ever in a real world fighting situation. All of his weight is on one tweaked ankle. How can he obtain any power from this position? Also, imagine how much energy it must take just to stand like that.

Haha I had the same sound effect in my mind when I saw it too.

Good job gypsy, superb rigging. I didn't realize a low-to-medium poly model could be so flexible without substantial joint deformation.
