You call HQ and ask. Donavon answers.
"Actually, Hastings and I are already working on that. We hope to have them ready for you soon, but you'll have to find a way back to The Slipgate Complex in order to retreave them. SFX's current weapons work with simple mirror laser technology. We're hoping to replace that with some kind of crystal laser. If we're successful, it'll make SFX's attacks exponentially more effective. Only problem we're facing with that theory is that his current Energy Breeder will be insufficient for these weapons. They will deplete SFX's internal power supply at too rapid a rate and he'll be useless after probably only one fight...afterward you'll have to change his Energy Cell. To combat that, we're also working on a new Energy Breeder for these weapons, similar to the one in your Plasma Pistol." Coooooooooool..... "Oh, while we're on the subject of upgrades, we have upgrade for Darkscythe." Darkscythe?? "Yeah. We've crafted some titanium claw fittings for him. We used lasers to sharpen them, so they are....really sharp. Like....seriously. They're sharp." Um...alright. That's kinda cool, you guess. "They're ready now, but you'll have to head back to E1M1 to get them."

                  SFX does not appear pleased...

So, anyway...Yogg-Shargoth, right? Let's go! You head back to the exit of E4M3 and pass through.

                  [Loading...]

You arrive in E4M4. Velen stays by the entrance.

                  Velen leaves your party

You head over to the healing pool to refresh yourself.

                  You are refreshed

You head along the path toward where you believe Yogg-Shargoth is. This is it! No more interruptions! Yogg-Shargoth dies now! We stand and fight or we....oh wait, SFX has something for you.

"Files loaded: 50%. Proceed?" You tell it yes. "Runic items are known as Bindings. Markings appear elemental in nature." ...is that all? "Affirmative. Additional files are still loading." That was 50%? Sheesh, there must not be very many files on these things. Bindings, eh? Of an elemental nature? Not very helpful. Anyway, onward!

You feel the presence of an Elder God around the next corner. You hear it's breathing. You feel its thoughts...Light help you, it's powerful...
Welcome, mortal. You certainly took your time getting here. Crap...there goes the surprise attack. You round the corner to face your enemy. Yogg-Shargoth stands before you in all of his shadowy glory. You never saw him before he was killed, but you can only surmise that he wasn't even a tenth as horrifying as he is right now. Shadow energy bleeds off of his body like fog from dry ice. Before we get down to it, do you have any requests as to how you would like to die? You think of the battle with the DKCs...you ask him if you have to do things this way. Things are not the same as they were with my commanders. I may not exactly enjoy being a pawn to these Shadows...but I relish in the opportunity to destroy you and your plague of a people. So, yes. We will fight, and you will die. There is no talking your way out of this. Welp, was worth a try. You take out the Commander's Blade and let its power flow through you. You charge the giant Shadow, but are halted by a painful searing psychic spike. Your mind bends under Yogg-Shargoth's will. You cannot even move. Darkscythe rushes to your defense. Yogg-Shargoth assails his brain, freezing him in his tracks. You and your pet writhe in agony, unable to even bat an eye at your opponent. SFX flies to your rescue and unloads upon your foe. As his lasers crash upon Yogg's Shadow energy, you feel his psychic hold weaken. You yell for SFX to keep it up. Yogg-Shargoth tries to manipulate SFX, but SFX has no brain for him to attack. You are released just enough to get to your feet and resume your charge. Yogg-Shargoth notices you, and continues his attack on your mind, this time with painful side-effects.

                  You lose 20 health

SFX increases his assault, not letting up on his trigger. You take out your Plasma Pistol and try to add in a few shots, but Yogg's psychic assault is crippling. You start to feel your flesh burning. You dig your fingers into the Commander's Blade, trying to pull strength from it, but even Velen's strength isn't enough for you to defend yourself mentally. Yogg-Shargoth slithers a tenticle up behind SFX and grabs it. Your entire party is now incapacitated. Shit. This can't be the end! There's gotta be some kind of trump card you can pull!

If this were any kind of normal fight, then sure, the second and a half of Kaio-ken that you might be able to pull off at your skill level might come in handy, but with Yogg-Shargoth's psychic claws so deep into your brain, you can't possibly concentrate hard enough to even get a flicker of red fire aura. Maybe something in your inventory could help you? At this point, you're willing to try anything!

You've been trying to raise your mental defenses all along, but Yogg got in there before you had a chance to do so. You've even been conjuring up difficult calculus problems and word problems hoping for some kind of psychic backlash, but it would seem that Yogg is pretty math-savvy. You try to squint at Yogg. It would appear that he doesn't have any eyes. You spray the light into your eyes...all it does is give you a headache. He doesn't seem phased at all. Damn it...not many options left. If you could some how numb your mind while retaining your conciousness, that might help. If only you had some Liquid Courage....shit. Darkscythe begins to whine. SFX begins to spit sparks as Yogg's tendril constricts around it. You're running out of time!

You're certainly desperate enough to try. You take out the syringe and stick yourself. There are only a few agonizing moments before you feel the water take effect.

                              You are refreshed.
You have gained the "Dream Water Stim" buff.

All your concentration has pretty much gone out the window...but then again, so has the pain. Your mental reception has also gone the way of your concentration. Yogg-Shargoth has lost his hold on your mind...mostly because your mind doesn't even know where it is right now...or what it is...or who you are, or who the pretty floating robot is...lets see, where are we? What's this cool-looking pistol in your hand? Oh hey look, a little axe! Say, that's a scary-lookin monster over there. Eat axe, monster! You chuck your axe at the monster. It lodges itself into Yogg-Shargoth's torso. He screeches as he yanks it out and tosses it aside. Hey look, another axe! And a sword!! Dude, you have all kinds of cool shit in here! Wonder what else is in here? DUDE!!! THERE'S A FUCKING BIG-ASS SHOTGUN IN HERE!!! Oh man, you have GOT to try this thing. Fuck, this thing is heavy!! Oh that monster-lookin thing is coming over here. Oh shit! Let's see, how do you shoot this thing...uhh....fuck! Where's the trigger?!? Oh, gods, it's putting it's tenticles on you!!! AAHHH!!! Just throw the goddamn thing at it!!! You chuck the heavy-ass large shotgun at the monster. It smacks him right in the face. As it hits him, it goes off, unloading a pair of 10ga buckshot right into his skull. The thing screams horrificly as Shadow energy bleeds out of it's mangled head. It is definitely not happy now...but you don't care. You just wanna hold that shotgun some more! You saunter over to the flailing monster and retrieve your gun. Ooooohhhhh yeeeaaahhh....just holding this thing is giving you a serious military boner. Oh, monster is back...you....uh, wait....what's going on? You don't feel quite so good anymore...

                              Dream Water is waning...

Shit, what's gonna happen now? Wait...the effect has worn off, but Yogg-Shargoth hasn't sunk his claws into your brain yet. That blast to the face must've weakend his psychic abilities. Well, that's all well and good, but you better finish the fight before he figures out how to fix that problem, which...knowing your luck, won't take him long. Darkscythe and SFX are standing at your side, waiting for you to lead the charge again. How should we kill this thing?
