I was going through the Q1 server lists and was disappointed again to find more servers than people playing. Very rarely do I find servers with people going at it like in the 90's.
I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong place or something, but this really made me wonder if anyone's actually playing Quake anymore. If not, I don't think it'd be because it's "retro", because people are playing games like Half-Life and Unreal all the time. It just seems like Quake's become lost in time, if you know what I mean.
Now, granted the community's definitely alive. Hell, just looking at this website alone, you can tell that people still care about the game and are keeping it alive and well, it just feels so empty when I'm looking at that empty server list.
I guess I just want to get totally annihilated by better players like the good old days, when it was all about LAN parties and online matches. Now everyone's playing Quake Live.
