Do you have admin access to the <cough> windows machine you're running this on?

Probably not. How do I turn it on?

Windows XP and Vista require administrative access for some stuff. Not much you can do about it either.

Are you using XP or Vista and what Worldcraft version are you downloading. I would personally recommend http://www.quakeone.com/qadapter

Worldcraft 1.6 is very good for making maps but if you get REAL serious about it, Worldcraft 3.3 is better because rotation does not mess up your textures.

A ton of great resources are at http://www.quakeone.com/navigator/

or use quark wich is realy easy to use.. just make sure u set it on "valve 220" for the map output and set "use integrals as threepoint" and after rotating/cutting brushes check if vertices have gone slightly offgrid.. and if so force em back

Now it won't load the textures because it's not a WAD3 file. Help again please.

Sounds like you are using Worldcraft 3.3 (installer); to successfully use Worldcraft 3.3 to make Quake maps [without being a mapping God] you *must* use the Quake Adapter for Worldcraft 3.3 (installer). If you do, that problem goes away because the WADs get auto-converted upon starting Worldcraft.

You install Worldcraft 3.3 to the default location (it must be on c: drive too) and then install the Quake Adapter which makes everything nice and easy.

Back in my day, we had to rotate on own textures!

Personally, I use Qoole . I found WorldCraft rather weird. Qoole is more simple to understand.
