What was Quake 2 going to be named before it was Quake 2?

I remember it was going to be named something other then Quake 2 at first but they had to change it due to naming rights.

If I remember right, Doom was supposed to be a movie license for the Sigourney Weaver alien's movie, but it never went through. History might have been a little different if it had been Aliens instead of the spawn of hell. Not sure about Quake 2 though.
