Right on, Solecord. I know you'll make a good decision, whatever it is. I gave all of the only kind of input I know how to give - honest consideration.

That would be nice, except I bet this would start happening:

1. Someone newbie starts a "how do I do this" thread
2. Thread proves to be immensely useful
3. Someone newbie then decides he got the answer to his question and doesn't something like close the thread, removes useful conversation viewed as off-topic, deletes posts or the thread itself. (At Inside3D there used to be this one person who would post a tutorial and later edit it out after it had pages of replies ... .. several times ... it was annoying.)

It would happen. We've seen people want to do that before.

At the same time, yeah ... significant derails or someone just mucking up a thread happens (sometimes even on purpose) ...

I could not agree more... but there still needs to be a way to remove the crap or nobody is going to make any serious effort to contribute.
