  • Quake 1 Online (release 2)

    Hi,
about a year ago i released Quake 1 Online (play Q1 in your Browser). Now it's time for release 2. It's faster and i made a new Website.
    http://www.divinity.x10.bz/divinityshooter/quake1/

You need Java 1.7+ installed and a good CPU. It should run on any System which supports Java.

How fast of a CPU may i ask?
I am like a stray dog, lost in between what I do and what I should do.
But sometimes, all you need is Imagination.

        I have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz and on Ubuntu x64 i get 30-70 FPS.

I assume this is just jdosbox? If not and if it is a Java port, I hereby request you to send me the source of the Quake engine used as required by the GPL. Mail address is spirit at quaddicted dot com. Thanks!

It's just jDosbox, optimized for Quake1.
As you might knew there is a Java port of Quake2 out there:
            Bytonic Software
            newer JOGL only port:
            jogamp.org Git - users/sgothel/jake2.git/summary

It's telling me my security settings are blocking it and I don't have any idea where to go in my "security settings" to fix this. I'm running the most current version of firefox (28.0)

On Windows go to Systemsettings and then Java. There you can change the security level.

Can't you just press Ignore there? I would advise against changing system-wide settings as Java running in the browser is a huge security risk and something you normally should not do.
