model is great! animation glitch aside, but thats to be fixed yet and thats obvious.
I would say though that on this occasion the skin defintely needs to be at least twice the resolution it is now on a model this scale. just look at skiffy's shambler against it and i'm sure you'll see what i mean.
it wouldnt hurt to be a shade lighter (less brown more bone) to match the original... but this is a great looking model nonetheless...
i'd say you'd be better off with your gl_texturemode set to nearest_mipmap_linear when testing skins in game.
this helps to identify any of these problems that get hidden when the gl texture filtering is blurring everything together
*edit*
anyway, even though this is still wip, here is a basic edit: https://www.mediafire.com/file/itc3p...jc_01.zip/file
(yes its wip and yes I'm jumping the gun a bit I know, I know, but with models this great you know I cant resist a bit of skinwork tinkering!)
its just an attempt to make it as authentic as possible, pic: https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/58...k6vqfmt9zg.jpg
making the colour closer to original and adding some of the original skin detail to the mouth/wound(?) parts of the skin...

Reason: added the skin edit. I realized it was easier to simply do it and post than trying to explain...
well, the version I've posted is the same model with the glitch.
afaik the fixed one is still pending from TM.
also ive a bit more work to do on this skin to make it good enough. that shot above is a bit of a lash-up quick job thats just a proof of concept. it needs polish so I'll keep you posted on that...
now it just needs those broken anims fixing and the model is good to go.
Then, all being well, its just a case of exporting the skin out of this one and re-importing it on the new model once thats done...
I kinda hope that teamonster ignores my above comment regarding rescaling the skin and instead leaves the skin res/size as it is now when he releases his 'fixed' version with the new anims as, if not, I'd have to go and do all this lot again...
Osjclatchford - I've included your skin at the resolution you supplied in this new model. I've tweaked the striations on the tentacles to more accurately match the original. Use your original if you don't like it.
If all is good, I'll chuck it in the finished work thread.
i think you may have uploaded the wrong mdl? only the one in that above link has the same(?) animations as on the beta one youve already released. also its the same skin I released as before. theres no changes to any 'striations' on there. I compared this and the last one I released. they are identical....
